The Drexel Way:
We don’t just sell lumber; we Supply. Happiness. Drexel is Team Member-owned and community-driven. With six retail hubs and three manufacturing plants across Wisconsin, we’ve been a Top Workplace every year since 2011. Why? Because we hire for heart and train for skill. When you join Team Blue, you aren't just a team member—you’re an owner.
The Mission:
Your mission is to act as the visionary designer for the everyday dreamer. You are responsible for taking a client's "wants and needs" and translating them into a tangible, buildable reality, while maintaining structural integrity. By creating a comprehensive construction plan, this will also serve as the builders and any other end users blueprint for success.
ABOUT THE RESIDENTIAL DESIGN ROLE:
Develop concept floor plan layouts and exterior elevations
Residential Designer will take concept floor plans/elevations and transform them into construction documents (Blue Prints)
Comfortable with using computers
Make dream homes become reality by working directly with clients to discuss their wants/needs
Understand roof, truss & floor loads.
Residential Designer will provide clients with the BEST service they have ever experienced
Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
Job site visits to get field measurements and identifying existing structural components.
Must be detail oriented, organized and have a creative mind!
Confident in presenting plans, products and services to the customer.
A rockstar at communication
As you grow in your role you will assist in training and motivating new team members
YOUR PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE:
Revit or similar experience a PLUS, but not a requirement
It would be great if your experience encompasses these four things:
Your background involves putting customers first
You have been a HUGE contributor to the success of a team
You are known to be the point person for product knowledge
You are uniquely you and bring something to the table that no one else can. You have done some great things that don't necessarily fall into the career path above but that's what makes you cool! Tell us why you would be great for this job anyway!
Are you able to fulfill all the requirements? We are sure you don't. You should apply anyway! We have the best training facilities and mentors anywhere. We can train you if you have the right personality.
