STAFF ACCOUNTANT at Sinai Chicago – Chicago, Illinois

The Staff Accountant is a key team member in the monthly close process and assists in the preparation, issuance, and analysis of monthly financial reports. This self-driven, detail-oriented professional must possess strong problem-solving skills, be well organized, and can work well under pressure. This position reports to the Assistant Controller.

Education and Work Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field
• 2+ years’ experience in general accounting, month-end close, and reconciliations

Knowledge and Skills:

• Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of Excel
• Excellent computer skills (MS Office suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Must be detail oriented with an ability to multitask and maintain a strong focus on quality, accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Willingness and eagerness to learn and take on new tasks
• Self-starter with:
  • Ability to operate with minimal supervision
  • Ability to multitask
  • Analytical and detailed-oriented
• Strong communication and customer service skills:
  • Confidence in relating to management staff outside the accounting department
  • Ability to relate to vendors and employees in a professional manner.

• Leadership skills with the ability to direct work with an accounting team and earn the respect of colleagues
• Experience in EPIC and MEDITECH software systems preferred.

Certifications/Licenses:

• CPA preferred
