About This Position

ABOUT THE ROLE As a Senior Tax Associate, you will join our Tax and Financial Planning team in delivering high quality service to our high-net-worth clients by performing various aspects of tax-related engagements and processes, while building and maintaining long-term relationships with clients. You will also support our financial-planning team members in developing clients comprehensive financial plans tailored to their financial situation. This position is located in Richmond, VA and reports to the Tax Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare simple-to-complex individual, trust, gift, and passthrough-entity income tax returns, quarterly and annual income tax estimates and projections, and other related filings for high-net-worth clients
Research and analyze complex or atypical tax issues and share recommendations with tax team and clients
Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other taxing authorities on behalf of clients and assist with gathering information for local, state, and federal tax audits
Conduct self-review for accuracy, manage deadlines, participate in client meetings, and communicate work statuses and significant changes with the Tax Administrator and Tax Manager
Gather, analyze, and input relevant client information into CRM systems and other platforms
Communicate with clients regarding tax and financial planning engagements ensuring timely follow-up and ongoing support
Manage multiple tax engagements concurrently to efficiently meet client needs
Assist team members with developing financial plans for clients to address their unique needs
Stay up-to-date and compliant with IRS guidelines and evolving tax laws and regulations
Seasonal overtime at certain points in the year, particularly those months leading to and including major tax deadlines
Perform other related duties and projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors degree in relevant field Valid Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license At least 3 years of experience preparing individual, estate, gift and trust income tax returns for high-net-worth individuals

BENEFITS WE OFFER Competitive base salary, plus annual discretionary bonus up to 20% based on individual and firm performance. The base compensation for this role will be determined after consideration of various factors including but not limited to skill sets, experience, education, qualifications, licensure and certifications, and hiring location of the individual selected for this role. Our full-time employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses based on individual performance and firm performance.
