About the Role:
The 2nd Shift, Monday-Thursday 4:30pm-2:30am, Manual Welder plays a critical role in the manufacturing and fabrication process by performing high-quality welding tasks during the evening shift. This position requires precision and attention to detail to ensure that all welded components meet strict industry standards and specifications. The welder will collaborate closely with the production team to maintain workflow efficiency and contribute to meeting production deadlines. Safety and adherence to company protocols are paramount, as the role involves working with potentially hazardous equipment and materials. Ultimately, the successful candidate will help produce durable, reliable products that meet customer expectations and support the company’s reputation for excellence.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a manual welder in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings.
- Certification in welding (e.g., AWS Certified Welder) or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of welding safety standards and practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a 2nd shift or evening shift environment.
- Familiarity with multiple welding processes including SMAW, MIG, and TIG.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform minor equipment maintenance.
- Previous experience in a high-volume production environment.
- Additional certifications related to welding or metal fabrication.
Responsibilities:
- Perform manual welding operations using various welding techniques such as SMAW, MIG, and TIG according to blueprints and work orders.
- Inspect welded joints for quality and accuracy, making adjustments as necessary to meet specifications.
- Maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in safe and proper working condition.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize tasks and meet production schedules during the 2nd shift.
- Adhere strictly to safety guidelines and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
Skills:
The required skills enable the welder to accurately interpret technical drawings and execute precise welds that meet quality standards, ensuring structural integrity and product reliability. Proficiency in various welding techniques allows the welder to adapt to different materials and project requirements encountered daily.
