Summary: Under direct supervision, is responsible to apply principles of accounting to analyze
financial information and perform the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Monitors census data for completion
• Prepares monthly billings based off of census reports.
• Submits reports for
Managed Care contracts, as required.
• Interfaces with Managed Care Organizations as needed to facilitate monthly billings (request,
correct, approve authorizations).
• Resolves billing discrepancies by conducting further research and correcting errors.
• Resolves disputed claims by gathering, verifying, and providing additional information and
following up on claims.
• Prepare and send monthly billing statements.
• Review of Accounts Receivable Aging report and follow up with outstanding balances to
ensure all funds owed are collected.
• Assist with handling billing inquires from clients and/or guardians.
• Assist with monthly HUD clerical tasks (process housing assistance payments(HAP Vouchers);
tenant rent changes and maintains rent roll control; recertification paperwork; income, asset,
and medical expense verifications; new tenant paperwork; etc.)
• Prepares monthly journal entries as needed.
• Audits the funds of clients served.
• Assists in preparing work papers for audits of all companies.
• Supports the strategic planning and budgeting process and may assist in developing initiatives
to achieve the overall mission and vision of the organization.
• Participates in organizational or departmental committees, as appropriate.
• Adheres to all St. Coletta organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:
Associate’s Degree or a minimum of 2 years of accounting/billing experience. Medicaid and/or
Managed Care Organization (MCO) billing experience a plus.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write
correspondence. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and in front of groups.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions,
percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and
geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where
only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral,
diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting and Microsoft
Office Suite products especially strong in excel skills, Internet, and e-mail.
Knowledge of how to operate a copy, fax, and scanning machine.
