About This Position
About the Role:
This position focuses on performing routine and preventive maintenance tasks, troubleshooting electrical systems, and addressing mechanical issues to minimize downtime and maintain production quality. The successful candidate will collaborate with production and maintenance supervisors to identify and resolve equipment malfunctions promptly. By maintaining equipment reliability and safety standards, this role directly contributes to meeting production targets and operational excellence.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience, training or a general knowledge of electrical troubleshooting.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and maintenance procedures such as chain, and sprocket replacement.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance with OSHA standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment with automated production equipment.
- Familiarity with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems and controls.
- Basic welding or mechanical repair skills.
- Ability to work flexible shifts and overtime as needed to support production schedules.
Responsibilities:
- Work with production during up time.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment to ensure operational efficiency when directed to do so.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues in production machinery using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Assist in repairing or replacing faulty components to minimize production downtime.
- Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to prioritize and address urgent equipment repairs.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies while performing maintenance tasks.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying potential equipment upgrades or process enhancements.
Skills:
The required skill of electrical troubleshooting is applied daily to identify and resolve electrical faults that could disrupt manufacturing operations. Candidates will use diagnostic tools and interpret wiring diagrams to efficiently pinpoint issues and implement repairs. Preferred skills such as familiarity with PLC systems enhance the ability to work with automated equipment, improving response times and repair accuracy. Mechanical aptitude complements electrical skills by enabling the candidate to address a broader range of maintenance challenges, including mechanical adjustments and minor fabrication. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential for coordinating with production staff and maintenance teams to ensure timely and effective resolution of equipment problems.
