About This Position

The Quality Inspector – CMM Programmer is responsible for ensuring that components and assemblies meet established quality standards and customer specifications. This role requires hands-on expertise in CMM operation and programming, a strong working knowledge of GD&T, and experience performing first article, in-process, and final inspections

. The Quality Inspector partners closely with production and engineering teams to maintain product quality and support continuous improvement initiatives.

What You Will Be DoingCMM Operation & Programming
  • Program, operate, and maintain CMM equipment (e.g., Zeiss Calypso, PC-DMIS) to accurately measure complex machined components

  • Ensure CMM equipment is properly calibrated and functioning according to established procedures

Inspection & Measurement
  • Perform first article inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final inspections

  • Use precision measuring instruments including CMMs, micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and optical comparators

  • Accurately document inspection results and maintain records in accordance with quality management system requirements

Technical Interpretation & Collaboration
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications in accordance with GD&T requirements

  • Communicate inspection results, trends, and quality concerns to production, engineering, and quality teams

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve non-conformances and support corrective and preventive actions

Quality & Continuous Improvement
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures and applicable quality standards

  • Participate in audits, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Support training of production personnel on inspection methods and quality requirements

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Quality Inspector in a manufacturing environment preferred

  • CMM programming experience required

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or technical certification in Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Technology, Plastics Machining, or a related field

  • Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and capability studies

  • Experience in aerospace, life sciences, or defense manufacturing environments

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods (8+ hours)

  • Regularly lift, carry, and maneuver parts up to 25 pounds

  • Manual dexterity to handle small parts, tooling, and precision measuring instruments

  • Ability to wear required PPE including safety glasses, safety shoes, gloves, and hearing protection

  • Work in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise, temperature variation, and exposure to machining oils
