The Monarch San Antonio – A Legacy of Service and Sophistication

The Monarch San Antonio, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, is a 200-room, 17-story boutique hotel located in the Hemisfair District of downtown San Antonio. It is set to open in early 2026 and is inspired by the Monarch butterfly that migrates through the region each winter. The hotel will feature a full-service spa, a terrace pool, and five food and beverage concepts, including a rooftop restaurant and bar.

Position Overview

The Team Member Dining Room Cook is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals for hotel staff while maintaining a clean, efficient, and organized kitchen environment. This role ensures all food meets hotel standards for taste, presentation, and safety, supporting a positive team member experience within a full-service luxury hotel.

What You'll Do

Culinary Preparation & Service

• Prepare and cook nutritious meals for hotel employees in accordance with established menus and dietary requirements.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, portioning, and presentation.
• Ensure timely service during team member meal periods while maintaining professionalism and efficiency.

Food Safety, Sanitation & Quality

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the team member dining room and kitchen areas.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene protocols consistently.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and hotel standards.

Inventory & Operational Support

• Monitor inventory levels and manage stock rotation to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
• Assist with ordering supplies as needed.
• Collaborate with culinary and management teams to plan menus, accommodate special dietary needs, and implement operational improvements.
• Foster a positive, respectful, and team-oriented work environment.

What You'll Bring

Required Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Proven experience as a cook required, preferably in hotels, restaurants, or catering environments.

Preferred Education

• Culinary degree or formal culinary training preferred.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of food preparation techniques, hygiene standards, and kitchen safety protocols.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen duties safely.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including early mornings or late evenings as required.

Licenses or Certificates

• Food Handler Certification required.
