About This Position
This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Staff/Principal Engagement Manager (CMS) in the United States.
This role offers a unique opportunity to lead complex, high-impact engagements at the intersection of policy, technology, and operations. You will guide multidisciplinary teams to help state agencies implement federal Medicaid community engagement requirements, translating evolving policy into practical, state-specific solutions. The position requires navigating multi-layered stakeholder environments, coordinating across internal and external teams, and driving outcomes in high-stakes, delivery-focused settings. You will provide clarity amid ambiguity, remove blockers, and ensure consistent, scalable delivery across multiple engagements. This is a strategic and hands-on role that blends leadership, problem-solving, and operational expertise, with the ability to directly influence how public programs operate and serve people. The position is fully remote, with occasional travel as needed, and is ideal for someone passionate about improving public outcomes through technology-driven solutions.
- Lead end-to-end delivery of CMS engagements, ensuring states translate federal Medicaid requirements into actionable, compliant, and effective solutions
- Serve as the central point of coordination across CMS, state partners, internal teams, and subcontractors, aligning stakeholders and managing competing priorities
- Translate evolving federal guidance into clear plans, priorities, and execution pathways for multidisciplinary teams
- Assemble and lead teams across product, design, engineering, and operations, fostering collaboration and removing obstacles to drive delivery
- Manage multiple concurrent engagements using agile and delivery management practices (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) to achieve consistent, high-quality outcomes
- Facilitate retrospectives and continuous improvement practices to capture lessons learned and optimize engagement processes
- Provide clear visibility into project status, risks, and outcomes to senior federal and state stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience leading complex, end-to-end project or program delivery, preferably in consulting, product management, or operations
- Strong ability to convert ambiguous or evolving requirements into clear plans, priorities, and actionable work
- Experience at the intersection of policy, operations, and technology, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences
- Skilled in stakeholder management, aligning senior leaders across multi-layered and politically sensitive environments
- Familiarity with agile or iterative delivery approaches, applying them pragmatically in real-world, high-stakes contexts
- Systems thinking skills to understand interactions between policies, processes, technology, and data
- Comfort working with technical systems, legacy environments, and data flows
- Experience in government, healthcare, or other regulated environments is preferred
- Ability to build trust, provide visibility into delivery status, and foster continuous improvement among teams
- Commitment to public service and improving outcomes through effective program delivery
- Competitive salary, ranging from $170,000–$230,000 depending on level (Staff or Principal) and experience
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- Short-term and long-term disability, life, and AD&D coverage
- 401(k) with dollar-for-dollar match up to 10%
- Flexible PTO policy (~25 days/year) plus 11 federal holidays
- Up to 12 weeks paid parental leave
- Performance-based rewards, including bonuses, stock options, and referral incentives
- Professional development allowance and tech stipend
