About This Position
Relationship Manager
Our SelectLeaders client is a U.S.-based commercial bank that offers a broad range of financial services, with a particular strength in international trade and small business lending. They provide products such as export-import financing, commercial real estate loans, business and personal checking and savings accounts, and digital banking solutions and are seeking established Relationship Managers to support their growing team. The Relationship Manager is responsible for originating, managing, and growing the banks portfolio, specifically focusing on businesses with operating lines of credit, equipment financing, working capital needs, and other related lending structures backed by real estate collateral and examines, evaluates, and authorizes or recommends approval of customer applications for commercial loans.
In addition to technical lending expertise, this officer must serve as a true advisor to business owners. The Relationship Manager must possess strong business acumen, patience, innovative thinking, and the ability to deeply understand a clients operations and financial needs. The ideal candidate is not your typical "cookie cutter" banker, but a thoughtful, solutions-oriented advisor who can creatively utilize the banks products and confidently propose appropriate loan structures.Essential Job Functions

- Assist lending team in all facets of growing and managing the banks commercial real estate loans.
- Develop new and additional deposits, cash management and bank services revenue.
- Work with clients to resolve account or service-related problems
- Maintain ongoing visibility with client base
- Call and visit target customers to promote and sell establishment products and services.
- Promote and cross-sell other establishment products and services as appropriate to customer requirements, such as business checking, business credit card, and letters of credit.
- Develop, revise, or eliminate products and services experiencing less than satisfactory performance.
- Acquire and grow profitable account relationships with moderately complex business customers and commercial real estate investors/owners.
- Accurately analyze borrowers financial status, credit and property evaluations, credit histories, corporate financial statements and other relevant financial information to determine feasibility of granting loans; prepare loan presentations with the assistance of loan processors to Loan Committee for approval.
- Review and update credit and loan files and loan agreements to ensure that they are complete and accurate according to policy.
- Cohesively partner with team members and business lines to deliver exemplary customer service of the banks full complement of products and offerings.
- Compile and analyze market research data to develop a portfolio of products and services focused on needs of the target market.
- Generate new products and services to complement the current portfolio.
- Generate and screen leads following establishment policies and procedures to attain new business relationships and product sales.
- Design selling program to promote establishment consumer and business loan products.
- Oversee all stages of the loan development program to ensure compliance with establishment policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
- Knowledge of business and management principles.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
- Bachelor Degree/Masters Degree or equivalent.
- Actively strive to increase customers' deposit business within the bank.
- Demonstrated sales experience, negotiation skills, business development, portfolio management skills, accounting and/or financial acumen.
- Advise clients with patience, insight, and strong business understanding.
