General Summary: Under the supervision of the Center Administrator, provides support and assistance in maintaining the property, plant, and equipment of Carolina SeniorCare.

Maintains cleanliness and performs assigned tasks to maintain locations in a sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition, following all State, Federal, and Local requirements. Performs housekeeping, cleaning activities, and floor care within well established guidelines, to ensure a healthy, clean environment.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. 1. Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and have means of transportation. Must be able to meet EveryAge auto insurance carrier's standards for coverage.

2. Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required.

3. Experience: Previous custodial or janitorial experience in health care or school system preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

1. Follows daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedule.

2. Cleans assigned areas of building, including carpeting, walkways, furnishings, and fixtures, according to floor care and housekeeping policy.

3. Steam cleans or deep cleans all carpets, as scheduled or assigned.

4. Uses proper carpet cleaning chemicals on carpets in a safe and efficient manner. Uses carpet extractor on all carpets as scheduled or assigned. Spot cleans all carpets daily by hand as needed.

5. Disinfects floors timely and in response to accidents.

6. Cleans floor care equipment after use. Completes simple preventative maintenance tasks on floor care equipment.

7. Vacuums all floors as scheduled.

8. Cleans all furnishings as scheduled.

9. Cleans baseboards as needed.

10. Sweeps patios, courtyards, walkways, and as needed or assigned.

11. Responds to floor care emergency calls, such as spills, body fluids, and markings, using proper equipment to clean the area, at all times using Universal Precautions.

12. Moves all furnishings and other flooring covering to properly clean floors.

13. Cleans up spills when accidents occur.

14. Empties, cleans, and relines all waste baskets and receptacles through out Carolina SeniorCare daily. Removes waste and disposes of all waste.

15. Recycles boxes, newspapers, cans, and other items to be removed from building.

16. May be required to set up and break down equipment used for events and scheduled throughout the facility and cleans areas used for events.

17. Cleans moveable and stationary furnishings and fixtures. Straightens and arranges furniture as needed or as directed.

18. Inspects furnishings for wear and defects and reports to supervisor.

19. Dusts, spot cleans, washes, disinfects, and polishes surfaces as required.

20. Cleans and disinfects bathrooms.

21. Cleans and disinfects fixtures, floors, walls, mirrors, and replenishes bathroom supplies, including soap, paper towels, bathroom tissue, and other disposable items as needed.

22. Cleans walls, windows, and doors.

23. May be required to provide floor care service to hard surface floors and carpeted floors, including routine cleaning and heavy duty cleaning. May provide floor services, such as stripping, waxing, spray buffing, sweeping, mopping, to include proper edging on all floor surfaces.

24. May be required to use both high speed and low speed buffers and burnishing equipment on slick floors.

25. Maintains clean entrances and exits.

26. Performs technical cleaning duties according to established procedures in participant care areas.

27. Cleans windows per schedule and as directed.

28. Reports any mechanical failures or negative conditions to maintenance.

29. Notifies supervisor when supplies are low.

30. Store cleaning equipment and supplies in a neat and orderly fashion. Ensures storage area is locked and secured after use of supplies.

31. Practices Universal precautions and follows appropriate Infection Control procedures. 32. Maintains a safe working environment. Follows Carolina SeniorCare's Policies and Procedures and OSHA safety guidelines.

33. Protects privacy and maintains confidentiality of all company procedures, results, and information about, employees, participants, clients or families.

34. Participates in continuing education classes and any required staff and training meetings.

35. Serves as a Transportation Escort as requested by supervisor.

36. Performs related duties as required.
