LIFEPATH JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: COMMUNITY PROGRAMS MANAGER
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This position is designed to complement LifePath’s approach to meeting the needs of LifePath Home Care consumers and older adults in Franklin County and the North Quabbin Area. This position follows an evidence-based model of volunteer training and implementation where volunteers are matched one-on-one with consumers. Priority responsibility is to manage and support the daily operations of LifePath community-based programs, volunteer recruitment, management & stewardship; and participating & coordinating LifePath outreach activities. Current LifePath community programs supported by this role encompass assisted transportation to medical appointments, phone pals companionship, a social support network for LGBTQIA+ older adults and other community projects that may evolve. This position has a cross-department administrative support component focused on effective integration of programs and reporting & monitoring systems, and providing back-up support to the Director of Community & Volunteer Resources, as requested.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Manage all aspects of assigned community programs, including day-to-day activities and volunteer intakes and supervision meetings along with implementing volunteer reference checks, orientation, annual training, and on-going recruitment activities.
2. Initiate and implement tailored volunteer recruitment strategies. Achieve program recruitment goals. Provide one-on-one follow-up when needed.
3. In collaboration with LifePath Client Service case managers, follow-up to meet program needs that support Home Care & non-Home Care consumers served in LifePath Volunteer programs.
4. Support community program volunteers to resolve challenges/conflicts that may arise.
5. Implement volunteer applicant intake process, conduct reference checks, and match volunteers with LifePath consumers.
6. Provide Rainbow Elders Steering Committee support to the volunteer program and the part-time LifePath Group Facilitator.
7. Facilitate and coordinate the mandatory annual LITMOS Volunteer Training process.
8. Implement & support volunteer stewardship activities and at LifePath events. Provide support and acknowledgement of the contributions of LifePath volunteers and participate in annual appreciation activities.
9. Support implementation LifePath Bi-Annual Volunteer Satisfaction Survey across all volunteer programs along with annual Client Satisfaction surveys by program.
10. Prepare monthly program statistics reports. Utilize volunteer and client various databases and software programs to strengthen program processes.
11. Every 6 months update with Franklin County COA/Senior Center inputs, the Medical Transportation Resource Guide for Older Adults in Franklin Cty & No. Quabbin areas.
12. Support Supervisor with ongoing evaluation of community programs. Identify and address longer-range program planning that enhances the LifePath volunteer experience and meets the needs of the vulnerable populations LifePath serves.
13. Update annually the LifePath Volunteer Handbook. Prepare new applicant Volunteer Intake materials, as needed.
14. Regularly update LifePath case managers and other staff on volunteer program offerings.
15. Cultivate strong relationships with internal/external stakeholders as requested.
16. Other related duties as assigned by Supervisor.

This position is supervised by the Director of Community & Volunteer Resources.

● Capacity for fine manipulation in the frequent use of office equipment such as computers, copy machines, fax machines, telephones, calculators, etc.

● Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
●Occasional reaching and grabbing objects with both hands, twisting of hand and wrist, and pushing and pulling of objects.
●Occasional bending, squatting, and twisting to perform work functions.
●Occasional capacity to lift up to 25 pounds.

Environmental:
●Work is split between indoor office work and traveling outdoors to meetings, training and consumers’ homes.
●Must be able to tolerate odors and pollutants including but not limited to smoke, air fresheners, pet dander, personal odors, etc. from a variety of in-home conditions.
●Must be able to tolerate by-products of office machine operation.
●Must be able to tolerate heat and cold of seasonal changes and indoor temperatures.
