The Team:

The Finance team at Vitalis is responsible for all things relating to revenue, costs, cash, and control. We are a diverse crew who work hard, are vocal and appreciate a great laugh.

The Role:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Assistant to join our finance team in Kelowna, BC. The ideal candidate will efficiently manage the accounts receivable process and take the lead in completing month-end tasks. This role provides the opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a growing company at the forefront of the extraction, heating, and cooling industry.

The Accounting Assistant will:

• Complete month-end close reconciliations
• Complete bank reconciliations & credit card reconciliations
• Prepare and validate journal entries in ERP System
• Tax Filings, PST, GST, Excise Duty
• Prepare and submit a variety of sales tax returns and supporting documentation
• Assist with financial audits and implement audit recommendations
• Receiving, recording and depositing customer payments
• Process and distribute invoices promptly for customer shipments
• Owner of Aged Receivable Ledger, leading debt collection
• Contribute to process improvements and efficiency initiatives within the accounts receivable function

To be successful, you should have or be working towards:

• Minimum of 2 years of related work experience is preferable
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
• Discretion in handling sensitive information and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience in manufacturing industry (preferred but not required)
• Must have Canadian citizenship or a Canadian work visa.

The starting salary range for the role is $60,000 to $70,000 based on experience and education.
