The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

Job Overview:

The Manager role is designed to encompass both administration and clinical practice roles. The administrative responsibilities make up 50% effort with clinical responsibilities filling the remaining 50% effort. The Manager reports directly to the Vice President, Primary Care and collaborates routinely with the behavioral Health Physician Medical Manager assigned to the Medical Group. All behavioral health clinicians report administratively to the Manager. Practice Site Operations Management and staff report to the Medical Group Vice Presidents, Regional Operations. The Manager works with the Vice President, Primary Care and Behavioral Health Service Line to deliver ambulatory behavioral health services across all markets of the Combined Medical Group. Behavioral health services are delivered in conjunction with primary care providers utilizing both integrated and co-located models as well as in traditional, free-standing practice sites. Travel required

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 5+ years in medical practice management or other similar ambulatory care environment required
  • LCSW, APN or other behavioral health clinician with active license in New Jersey in good standing
  • Candidate must be willing to maintain an active patient panel
  • Proven commitment to quality service delivery and achieving organizational mission required
  • Track record of fostering a collaborative working environment with open communication, transparency of actions, and clarity about performance expectations

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Day Shift, 40 hours/week

Essential Functions:

  • The Manager supports behavioral health providers and practice site operations managers to ensure systems are in place to deliver safe, high-quality patient care, as well as the infrastructure needed to consistently achieve patient access and provider productivity targets,
  • The following is a summary of the essential administrative functions associated with this role
  • In concert with the Vice President, Primary Care Services and the Behavioral Health Service Line Leadership design, develop, and grow a high-quality ambulatory network of integrated behavioral health services
  • Promotes excellence in the ambulatory behavioral health practices and serves as a subject matter expert on local and national behavioral health patient care models, population health management, regulatory standards, industry trends, and other issues that impact patient care and operations
  • Works with medical group operations to optimize capacity and productivity to continuously improve patient access, experience, and retention
  • Assures the quality, safety and appropriateness of patient care services are reviewed and evaluated on a regular basis and, when required, takes adequate actions to address findings
  • Define, develop and implement policies and procedures which guide and support provision of service in specific behavioral health operating, patient satisfaction, population health management, and financial management reports
  • Supports Medical Group Leadership and Finance Department with the development and implementation of annual budgets
  • Identify areas for improvement and make recommendations to the Service Line, Regional, and Practice Site Management regarding changes
  • Support implementation of agreed upon improvement plans
  • Directly responsible for supervising, developing, and mentoring the ambulatory or assigned behavioral health providers
  • In conjunction with Regional and Practice Site Management, supports the development and mentoring of assigned support staff
  • Identifies provider and staff training needs and works with the provider or staff member to develop a plan to address these needs
  • Assist with onboarding new clinicians as they join the medical group
  • Address clinical questions as they arise from staff members and provide feedback and guidance on situations that are being escalated
  • Work in conjunction with the access center to identify ways to improve the process in which we receive and schedule new intake appointments
  • Be a resource to educate the PCP/Medical staff on appropriate behavioral health referrals
  • Including the use of EPIC to ensure that patients are being recommended for the appropriate level of care they need
  • Establish relationships with the behavioral health services within the RWJBH system outside of the medical group locations
