Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate compassion and professionalism in interactions with animals and team members
• Clean and sanitize animal enclosures to maintain high health and wellness standards
• Conduct daily deep cleaning and perform routine spot checks and touch-up cleaning as needed
• Ensure animals have clean bedding, fresh water, and appropriate nutrition at all times
• Maintain facility cleanliness through laundry, dishwashing, supply restocking, litter box and carrier cleaning, and floor care (sweeping and mopping)
• Keep care stations organized and well-stocked across the facility, including laundry, feeding, and supply areas
• Transport, organize, and manage inventory supplies, including receiving and distributing deliveries
• Perform daily facility rounds to replenish water stations and maintain cleanliness in play areas
• Meet daily performance goals and follow time-sensitive directives, including maintaining continuous operation of washers and dryers
• Support team members with daily tasks and assist with additional responsibilities as assigned
• Collaborate with volunteers to complete tasks efficiently in a team-oriented environment
• Foster an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere for volunteers during each shift
• Assist in onboarding new volunteers by providing guidance and orientation support
• Encourage volunteer engagement and retention through feedback, recognition, and support
• Identify and recommend high-performing volunteers for advanced roles or responsibilities
• Provide clear instructions, hands-on training, and real-time support to ensure volunteer success
• Contribute to a positive workplace culture through appreciation and recognition of volunteer contributions
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management
• Must love dogs and cats and willing to clean their cages

Other Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate reliability, accountability, effective time management, sound reasoning, and strong decision-making skills
• Participate in all required training sessions and team meetings
• Maintain clear, consistent communication with the Program Manager, supervisors, and team members
• Collaborate with Volunteer Managers to understand programs and provide ongoing support to volunteers within the department
• Adapt effectively to changing priorities and perform additional duties as assigned
• Maintain flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required
• Thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced, and demanding work environment
• Work independently with minimal supervision while meeting established goals and deadlines
