This leadership role sits at the core of revenue cycle operations, overseeing pre-access functions that directly impact patient access, financial performance, and front-end denial prevention across multiple healthcare markets. You will lead and develop distributed teams responsible for ensuring accurate, efficient, and standardized pre-access workflows while aligning with broader revenue cycle objectives. The role requires close collaboration with clinical, operational, and administrative leaders to ensure seamless coordination across upstream and downstream processes. You will also serve as a key driver of performance improvement, leveraging data, analytics, and AI-enabled tools to optimize outcomes. This is a highly visible position where operational leadership, process excellence, and strategic thinking converge to strengthen both patient and organizational experience.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead and oversee multi-market Pre-Access operations, ensuring consistent execution, standardization, and adherence to best practices across all functional teams
  • Define departmental strategy, structure, and performance expectations while guiding managers responsible for daily operations and production outcomes
  • Partner with revenue cycle, facility, and clinical leadership to align workflows and ensure seamless upstream and downstream process integration
  • Monitor key performance indicators, audit accounts, and analyze denial trends to identify gaps and implement corrective process improvements
  • Develop and coach managers and leaders, using reporting and analytics to drive performance, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Manage departmental budgets and operational reporting, ensuring efficiency, financial alignment, and achievement of organizational goals
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for Pre-Access operations, supporting enterprise-wide initiatives and regulatory compliance standards
Requirements

This role requires an experienced healthcare revenue cycle leader with strong operational, analytical, and people management capabilities. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in pre-access or revenue cycle operations, with a proven ability to lead teams, improve processes, and leverage data-driven insights to drive performance. Strong leadership presence, communication skills, and the ability to operate in fast-paced, cross-functional environments are essential.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of leadership experience in healthcare operations
  • 3+ years of revenue cycle or Pre-Access experience
  • Experience managing teams, developing leaders, and driving operational strategy
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using reporting tools and performance metrics to drive improvements
  • Experience with Epic and revenue cycle systems preferred
  • Familiarity with call center or patient access operations is a plus
  • Strong communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Certification (CRCR) required within the first 9 months of employment
