Position Summary:
Henderson State University invites applications for the position of Vice Chancellor for Student Life.
The VC for Student Life will be a member of the University's leadership team, reporting directly to the Chancellor. This individual serves as the chief administrator in directing areas of student life including: housing, food service, campus testing, student activities, Greek life, TRIO programs, health services, disability services, counseling, student conduct, student recreation and intramurals, and campus service activities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Demonstrated expertise in pedagogy and analysis of student records/data.
• Demonstrated public speaking skills.
• Demonstrated leadership expertise.
• Knowledge and experience with student success/life platforms, trends, research.
General Days/Hours:
Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Additional hours as requested and/or needed.
Regular and reliable attendance.
Other:
This position will remain open until filled.

Minimum Qualifications:
A completed Ph.D. or Ed.D. and five (5) to ten (10) years of experience and leadership focused on student life/success.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide oversight to the development and engagement of an increasingly vibrant program throughout the Henderson campus. This includes engaged and inspirational leadership of directors in various student life offices and initiatives.
- Provide innovative ideas and tactics to continue to grow and enhance all areas of student life and engagement. Also implement innovative and evidence-based programs and activities that engage the entire campus, including faculty, staff and students.
- Work collaboratively with other offices to help implement comprehensive marketing and branding activities in support of student life.
- Report on a regular basis to the Chancellor, the Executive Council, and the university community on the status of student life activities and statistics on campus.
- Serve as chair of the Student Life Task Force that includes other directors engaged in student life leadership, vision and planning
- Serve on the Enrollment Management Committee.
- Review practices, policies, and initiatives associated with each student life department to ensure they are pursuing successful and timely initiatives (aligned with institutional goals).
- Participate in Student Life strategic planning and annual reporting.
- Identify critical elements of the Student Life requiring assessment and adjust practices based on evidence and data.
- Work with Chancellor and University Human Resources to develop an annual professional development plan.
- Lead and participate in university committees and initiatives.
- Manage department budgets in cooperation with staff.
- Provide guidance for budget preparation for all departments under Student Life.
- Advise Student Activities Board (SAB) and Student Government Association (SGA).
- Oversee elections of executive officers for SAB and SGA.
- Develop and implement risk management training.
- Continue to grow Greek Life at HSU
- Participate as a member of the Executive Council and the Administrative Staff Council.
- Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned.
