Monday-Friday, start time could be as early as 7am for surgery centers
This role will work at our Clifton Park Ambulatory Surgery Center and Wilton Ambulatory Surgery Centers while also covering in the clinics as needed.
General Description
The Radiologic Technologist will be instrumental in generating high-quality diagnostic medical radiographs, contributing significantly to the accuracy of diagnoses and the delivery of exceptional patient care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Document an appropriate patient history containing pertinent patient information regarding their condition and including patient limitations;
- Prepare patient for procedure providing instruction and education;
- Select and operate equipment; recognize essential condition for successful completion of procedure;
- Perform Medical Assistant duties when required such as cast removal, stitches and staple removal, dressing changes and other patient needs;
- Assisting physician in patient care as requested
QA/QC (Quality Assurance & Control)
- Perform daily checks on C-arm (image quality, functionality, calibration)
- Monitor radiation safety and dose (ALARA)
- Identify image issues (artifacts, lag, distortion)
- Maintain logs for inspections and compliance
- Coordinate routine maintenance and physicist testing
Vendor Communication
- Schedule maintenance and urgent repairs
- Troubleshoot basic issues before escalating
- Clearly report problems to vendors
- Track service history and document repairs
- Help coordinate training and equipment updates
Qualifications
- Minimum of graduation from an accredited school in radiologic technology;
- Unrestricted NYS Radiologic Technologist license in NYS;
- ARRT Certification;
- 1- 2 years of Radiologic Technology experience preferred
- Excellent communication and customer service skills;
- CPR/BLS preferred
Other Information
- Ability to travel to various OrthoNY locations if needed. Reliable transportation is essential.
