DeCoach Recovery Centre, a local leader in addiction treatment, is hiring for a Medical Receptionist to work at our Xenia location. The Medical Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors in a healthcare setting, ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience. This role is critical in managing patient flow, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate records to support clinical operations. Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare environment preferred.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures.
- Proficiency with computer systems and electronic health record (EHR) software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with insurance verification and billing processes.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards.
- Multilingual abilities to assist a diverse patient population.
- Advanced proficiency in scheduling software and office productivity tools.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients promptly and courteously upon arrival.
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate medical personnel.
- Verify patient insurance information and assist with billing and payment processing.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Coordinate patient flow by communicating with medical staff regarding patient arrivals and delays.
- Manage administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and handling correspondence related to patient care.
- Assist patients with completing necessary forms and provide information about office policies and procedures.
