Summary

We are seeking a mid level Automation Engineer to join our IT team and design, build, and support workflow automations using Microsoft Power Automate and Microsoft 365 technologies. This role will take clearly documented workflows and own their technical implementation, working closely with IT leadership and internal teams to deliver reliable, scalable automation solutions.

This is a hands on engineering role ideal for someone who already has real Power Automate experience and is ready to take more ownership and technical depth.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain Power Automate cloud flows end to end
  • Translate workflow documentation into scalable, production ready automations
  • Design and implement AI assisted automations leveraging LLMs and generative AI services within Microsoft and approved third party platforms
  • Develop and maintain effective prompts for AI driven workflows (classification, summarization, extraction, decision support)
  • Integrate AI capabilities into Power Automate flows to enhance Document processing, Data enrichment, Email and request triage & Process decisioning
  • Evaluate and implement automation + AI integrations where AI improves accuracy, efficiency, or scalability
  • Collaborate with IT leadership to ensure responsible, secure, and governed use of AI in automation solutions
  • Build automations triggered by Outlook shared mailboxes, SharePoint document libraries and lists, Approvals, forms, and scheduled jobs
  • Integrate data across Microsoft platforms: SharePoint, Excel Online (Business), Outlook and Teams
  • Implement AI enabled automation, including: AI Builder (document and form processing, table extraction) & API based integrations using HTTP connectors or supported services
  • Implement robust Error handling, Notifications and alerts, Logging and retry logic
  • Troubleshoot failures, optimize performance, and refactor flows as needed
  • Maintain documentation and support handoff within the IT team
  • Partner with IT leadership to follow automation best practices and governance standards
Requirements:
  • 3+ years hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Automate
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • Experience building multi-step workflows with Conditions, Loops, Variables & Data transformations
  • Experience implementing automations from written technical requirements
  • Ability to independently debug and resolve automation issues
  • Strong problem-solving and systems-thinking skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AI Builder
  • Experience integrating external systems via HTTP / APIs
  • Familiarity with Azure Functions, Logic Apps, or similar services
  • Exposure to Power Apps (even if not primary responsibility)
  • Automation experience in HR, finance, operations, or compliance environments
