About This Position

Description:

Position Summary: Under the direction of the Outreach and Partnerships Manager, the Community Relations Senior Coordinator serves as a primary external representative of Interfaith Community Services (ICS). As a key member of the Outreach and Partnerships Department, this position is responsible for increasing awareness of ICS’s mission, programs and services throughout the community. The coordinator builds and maintains strategic relationships with community organizations, agencies, and corporate partners, serving as a vital connector between ICS and the broader community.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Community Outreach and Public Awareness (external events)

· Represent ICS at community events, meetings, and networking opportunities to promote programs and services while making strategic connections.

· Deliver engaging presentations to diverse audiences, including community groups, faith communities, and partner organizations.

· Coordinate and manage outreach events, including maintaining and evaluating the outreach calendar.

· Lead and support community tabling efforts at events, faith communities and partner locations.

· Recruit, train, and supervise the Outreach Ambassador Team to expand ICS’s presence in the community.

2. Connect with and maintain external relationships

· Serve as a connector between ICS and external stakeholders, based on community resources and organizational needs collaborating closely with the CEO, Development/Communications Department and Programming Staff (connect the right people in the community with the right people in ICS).

· Build and maintain key relationships with community groups, organizations, and corporate partners.

3. Internal Collaboration and Coordination

· Maintain a thorough understanding of ICS programs, priorities, and emerging needs.

· Coordinate staffing and volunteer support for outreach events, presentations, and community engagements.

· Ensure consistent messaging and alignment across departments when representing ICS externally.

· Track and report on outreach activities, partnerships, and community engagement outcomes.

4. Group Volunteer Opportunities

· Recruit and host volunteers at Produce Giveaways.

· Coordinate group volunteer opportunities at ICS’s Food Bank and other programs at ICS.

5. Fall Food Drive

· Coordinate the annual Fall Food Drive in collaboration with the Outreach, Food Distribution, and the Communication Departments.

Additional Duties:

· Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and agency-wide initiatives.

· Represent ICS in community coalitions, task forces, and special projects as assigned.

· Perform other duties and assignments as directed by or under the supervision of the Outreach and Partnerships Manager.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and to meet deadlines.

· Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentation experience.

· Proficiency with standard office technology (i.e. email, spreadsheets, databases and presentation software).

· Demonstrated alignment with ICS’s core values.

· Awareness of and sensitivity to the diverse needs of our staff, clients, volunteers, interfaith activities, faith community partners, and the community-at-large.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

· Associate's degree or equivalent work experience in community relations, outreach, or a related field

· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships both internally and externally with the agency.

· Ability to engage effectively with ICS’ faith community partners.

· Maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license, reliable transportation, clean driving record, and current auto insurance to attend community events.

· Must pass a background check

· Must Obtain and maintain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card

Preferred Qualifications

· One to two years' experience in community relations or related field

· Experience representing an organization publicly (i.e. events, presentations, networking)

· Background working in nonprofit, social services, or community-based work

· Conversational or bilingual proficiency in Spanish.

Reports to: Outreach and Partnership Manager

Location: Northwest Offices at 2820 W. Ina Road, Tucson, AZ 85741

Remote Work Eligibility: None

Supervises: None

Work Schedule: Full time, Monday through Friday, must be available evening/weekend hours.

FLSA exemption status: Exempt

Compensation: Depending on qualifications and experience. Benefits provided include group health insurance, ICS Retirement Plan, generous paid time Off, and paid holidays.
