MRI Technologist, Team Lead | R.T. (R)(MR)

Job Summary
The MRI Team Lead balances high-level clinical scanning with operational leadership. You will oversee workflow, mentor staff, and ensure the highest standards of quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
Essential Functions
- Clinical Excellence: Perform all duties of an MRI Technologist; operate and troubleshoot advanced imaging equipment.
- Team Leadership: Assign daily tasks, manage staff schedules, and ensure optimal workflow coverage.
- Quality & Compliance: Maintain QA/QC documentation for FDA, NYS DOH, ACR/IAC, and manufacturers. Lead ACR/IAC accreditation renewals.
- Training & Mentorship: Provide performance feedback and clinical training for new hires and current technologists.
- Operational Oversight: Review QC logs for equipment errors, coordinate major maintenance, and implement process improvements to reduce costs.
- Professional Communication: Serve as the primary liaison between staff, patients, and vendors; assist management in communicating policy and protocol changes.
- Performance Improvement: Lead department audits, inspections, and patient satisfaction initiatives.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited 2- or 4-year Radiology program.
- Licensure: Valid NYS Dept. of Health license.
- Certification: ARRT Registered; must hold specific MRI (MR) certification.
- Life Support: Current BLS certification required.
- Experience: 3–5 years of Radiology experience preferred.
- Skills: Strong problem-solving, HIPAA compliance, and organizational leadership.
Supervisory Responsibility
Oversees the daily operations of the MRI Department and reports directly to the Radiology Director/Manager.
Pay & Benefits
- Range: $48.31-$68.12/hour
- Note: Actual pay is based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
