About the role

In this entry-level role, we are seeking an individual who is passionate about personal care and beauty products, formulation and how for-profit business can bring positive change to the world. As part of our Research & Development team, the right individual will support the team across a broad array of activities in the lab. This will include assisting in the development of new products, conducting stability and other tests, sample production, labeling, and organization/maintenance of R&D raw materials.

What you'll do

  • Assist R&D formulation chemists in new product development processes. This includes lab experiments, product sampling, and other relevant tasks as assigned by R&D management and formulation chemists.
  • Generate, update, and maintain documentation relevant for lab experiments and R&D related tasks and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to help ensure the successful commercialization of new products.
  • Follow stability testing protocols to perform analytical testing and organoleptic evaluations to ensure products meet requirements for a 2 year shelf life.
  • Manage and maintain R&D raw material inventory, including prepping for batchs and storing materials at the end of the day.
  • Assist in instrument calibrations and daily/weekly reoccuring tasks necessary to maintain the R&D laboratory.
  • Other duties as assigned by R&D management and senior R&D team members

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biology, Engineering or similar field of study.
  • 1+ year experience in a professional laboratory (internships, college laboratory or full time positions) preferred, especially in a Research & Development lab, and/or related to the Beauty & Personal Care industry.
  • Self-starter, detail oriented, strong communication and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines and a dynamic work environment.

Role Details

  • This role a a 3 month contract role
  • Monday-Friday
  • Pay: $20/hr
