About This Position
Summary
This is a hands-on position to assist the vegetable production team in the field with daily tasks related to the planting, care and harvesting of vegetable crops. On a daily basis, the Vegetable Crew Member takes direction from the Director of Vegetable Production & Farm Operations and the Assistant Vegetable Manager, and works with others on all aspects of Glynwood’s vegetable operation.
Essential Job Duties
Hand weeding crops
Hoeing or mulching crops
Harvesting crops
Planting and seeding crops
Pruning and trellising crops
Bed and field preparation
General assistance with the maintenance of vegetable crops and vegetable production fields
Work Environment
Most of the work is performed outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
Physical Demands
This is a physically active role. The Vegetable Crew Member must be able and willing to
Stand, crouch, kneel, and bend
Lift and move flats, materials, hoses, etc.
Perform other physical activities as needed for producing vegetables
Work steadily outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and wind. (Working outdoors is not required when conditions are hazardous to human health.)
Travel and Weekend Work
None anticipated.

Requirements:Competencies

Ability to lift at least 50 pounds on a regular basis

Supervisory Responsibility
Possible work with volunteers.
Administrative Responsibility
Submit weekly timesheets to supervisor according to current requirements
Attend trainings in administrative procedures as required
Attend safety trainings as required
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Affinity for Glynwood’s mission
Valid US Driver License in good standing
Provable eligibility to work in the US
