About This Position
ELIGIBLE FOR CMH EMPLOYEE REFERRAL BONUS: NON PRIORITY RECRUITMENT
Under the direction of the Imaging Services Manager, provides all support tasks necessary for the efficient operation of a multi-modality hospital Imaging Department. Schedule Interventional and Imaging procedures with patients, providers, providers’ staff, and organization staff.
Provides information regarding scheduled procedures to patients, providers, providers’ staff and organization staff; including but not limited to: fasting instructions or required preliminary lab testing as appropriate. Works with Imaging Leadership, Technologists and Radiologist(s) as part of a team to ensure high quality patient care.
Assures daily patient schedule allows for ample coverage of patients scheduled with regard to staffing abilities, resources and/or limitations. Coordinates available resources to assure compliance with medical necessity requirements. Follows organization policy and regulations such as HIPAA with regard to confidentiality and release of personal history information. Must be able to multi- task, work independently and complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy with a minimum level of direct supervision.

Excellent organizational, planning, problem solving and both oral and written communication skills required.
- Must be able to multitask in a fast paced, high stress environment while utilizing computers and phones.
- Knowledge of medical terminology required. Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Able to work effectively with others. Must be able to recognize situations in which assistance is needed, either from staff or patients.
- Must be able to perform assigned responsibilities for shift.
- Must display competence and compassion in dealing with patients of all ages, from infant to geriatric.
- Ability to have computer knowledge and competency for multiple software applications including word processing, spreadsheets, data entry, retrieval, email, and internet browsing are required.
- Demonstrates excellent spelling, mathematical, verbal communication, clear handwriting skills and typing skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks/assignments independently and direct others, recognizing that patient care is the priority
License/Certification
BLS certification through American Heart Association is required.
Education and/or Experience
Experience in a healthcare setting required with preference for previous clerical, scheduling, and customer service experience. Experience with computer usage, including typing, data entry, email, and word processing is preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment Conditions / ADA Compliance
Must be able to lift, turn and escort patients when required. Must be able to stand, walk and sit for long periods of time. Position involves standing, walking, stooping, pushing, pulling, twisting, and occasional carrying and lifting of lightweight materials (up to 20 pounds). Requires visual acuity and depth perception to recognize words and numbers; and hand and finger dexterity and hand/eye coordination to use a computer keyboard and common office equipment. Must be able to multi-task while working under stressful conditions.
