About This Position
LMSW
Title: Licensed Master Social Worker
Reports To: Behavioral Health Program Director or Behavioral Health Coordinator
Department: Behavioral Health
Employment Status: Exempt
Position Summary: Provides a range of psychological assessment, diagnostic, therapeutic, and/or case management services for individuals, children, couples, groups, and/or families, as appropriate to position. Works under the direct guidance of a LCSW within Community Health and Wellness. Will participate in case consultation and present cases at clinical meetings. This position is in our North Canaan office (24 hours) and in Torrington and /or Winsted offices (18 hours).
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
Clinical diagnostic assessment skills
Ability to assess suicide and homicide risk potential
Consultation Skills
Communication Skills
The ability to work within a Multidisciplinary Team Model
Individual, Group and Family therapy skills preferred
Strong ability to problem solve
Community Collaboration skills
Skills to assess needs and programs accordingly
To practice in the scope of their training, qualifications and experience
Adherence to their professional code of ethics
Strong knowledge of and connection to community resources
Additional duties as requested
School Based Health Center (If applicable)
An understanding of the workings of school systems
Prevention and intervention skills and strategies appropriate for school settings
The ability to independently (with support) develop a caseload while working within the school system
Additional General Requirements: Professional positive attitude, understanding of customer service principles, trustworthiness and excellent interpersonal skills.
Job Qualifications/Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform his/her duties satisfactorily. Confidentiality: Access to and use of confidential client medical records. Confidentiality must be maintained according to Community Health and Wellness Center policies.
Education: LMSW position requires a Master's degree from an accredited program in Social Work.
Experience: Must have previous experience professionally or from a previous internship with assessing clients, maintaining an EHR, and some individual therapy experience. Group treatment and other therapeutic techniques preferred but not required.
Language Skills: Must speak, write and read English proficiently. Spanish preferred but not required.
Licensure/Certification Required: A current license from the Connecticut State Board of Registration and passed a national or state-certified licensing exam.
Teleworking: This position requires teleworking if requested.

Compliance with current law and policy to provide a work environment free from harassment and all illegal and discriminatory behavior.
Cooperates and works together with all co-workers;
Plans and completes job duties with minimal supervisory direction, including appropriate judgment.
Uses tactful, appropriate communications in sensitive and emotional situations.
Follows up as appropriate with supervisor and co-workers regarding reported complaints, problems and concerns.
Promotes positive public relations with co-workers, patients, family members and guests.
