Position Summary

Attention to detail, troubleshooting and debugging skills as well as the necessary experience are key to success in this role. Excellent written and verbal communications skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously and strong analytical and problem-solving skills are pre-requisites for success in this role. The ability to work with Engineering and translate requirements into test plans and cases is critical. Team player is a must!

SPS offers a highly challenging, yet interesting work environment. This position will involve working closely with the Development team, sharing, and working with them to achieve the highest level of success onsite in our Fishers Indiana Quality Center of Excellence.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with product and development teams throughout the SDLC to review requirements, plan tests, and execute integration and regression testing.
  • Estimate, prioritize, and coordinate testing efforts to meet project deadlines.
  • Serve as a product subject matter expert and create clear test plans and test cases for the QA team.
  • Set up and maintain realistic test environments.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between QA and Engineering to support timely issue resolution.
  • Approve releases to production, ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Contribute to automation efforts using modern test frameworks and tools.
  • Document test cases, results, risks, and defects, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Test new and legacy applications across web, client–server, cloud, and mobile platforms.
  • Assist developers in diagnosing and reproducing issues.
  • Lead or support the design and implementation of complex testing solutions.
  • Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders and share knowledge across the team.
  • Manage multiple projects independently while keeping stakeholders informed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or 4+ years of hands-on QA experience, with a solid understanding of QA methodologies, processes, and deliverables.
  • Demonstrated experience testing hardware–software integration in complex systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with network communication issues, including diagnosing and resolving connectivity and configuration problems.
  • Experience with a range of QA tools and processes, demonstrating adaptability and technical competence in modern testing practices.
  • Proficiency in working with virtualized environments (e.g., VMware, VirtualBox, Hyper-V) for test setup, execution, and isolation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Engineering degree or related field
  • Hands-on experience testing mobile applications across multiple platforms (iOS, Android).
  • Strong proficiency with SQL Server, including writing queries and analyzing data to support test activities.
  • Experience testing client/server and web-based applications.
  • Prior experience collaborating with offshore or distributed teams.
  • Working knowledge of both Windows and Linux operating systems, demonstrating versatility across environments.
  • Familiarity with work management and tracking tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira.
  • Experience testing RESTful APIs and services.
  • Exposure to automated testing frameworks and tools (e.g., Playwright, Selenium).
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python to support automation and improve QA efficiency.
