Urology RN Supervisor

Position will close: Sunday, 03/22 POSITION SUMMARY

The Urology Nurse Supervisor is responsible for the overall leadership, supervision, and daily operational management of the Urology department. This role ensures highquality, patientcentered urological and gynecological care by overseeing clinical practice, staffing, workflow, regulatory compliance, and departmental performance. The Urology Nurse Supervisor directly supervises Urology RNs, clinical support staff, and ancillary personnel while maintaining productive clinical practice through active patient care.

The Urology Nurse Supervisor collaborates with the Urology medical team and interdisciplinary partners to optimize care delivery, enhance patient experience, and support departmental growth. This role maintains responsibility for operational efficiency, staff development, regulatory readiness, and adherence to hospital and professional standards.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Licensure/Certification/Registrations: : Current Colorado RN license and current BLS for the Health Care Provider. Specialty certification (CNRN, CRRN or Urology) preferred.
  • Education: A graduate of a nursing program from an accredited college or university required. A graduate of a CCNE or NLNAC accredited school of nursing preferred; BSN required; MSN or leadership focused graduate degree preferred..
  • Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of RN experience required. Prior leadership, charge nurse, or supervisory experience preferred. Urology clinical experience strongly preferred.
  • Skills & Abilities: Demonstrated knowledge of urologic and gynecologic procedures, periprocedural nursing, infection prevention, and high level disinfection/sterilization practices. Strong leadership, communication, conflict resolution, and team building skills. Ability to manage staffing, productivity, scheduling, and departmental operations. Ability to mentor and develop staff, promote shared governance, and uphold professional standards. Excellent clinical judgment, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual – Spanish preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Practice within the ANA Code of Ethics and Colorado Nurse Practice Act.
  • Provide daily leadership, direction, and oversight for Urology staff, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care.
  • Maintain clinical competence and participate in productive patient care as needed to support departmental throughput.
  • Oversee safe administration of medications, adherence to policies, and timely reporting of medication-related events.
  • Ensure clinical proficiency of staff performing invasive GU and basic GYN procedures; assist with procedures as clinically indicated.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation consistent with hospital standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, infection prevention, and high-level disinfection standards.
  • Oversee endoscope reprocessing workflow, recordkeeping, equipment maintenance, and coordination with contracted sterilization services.
  • Support interdisciplinary collaboration to optimize patient outcomes and care coordination.
  • Maintain and revise standards of care, competencies, policies, and procedures related to Urology operations.
  • Educate patients and families, supporting transition to self-management and skill acquisition.
  • Provide professional supervision to clinical and nonclinical team members, promoting accountability and excellence.
  • Ensure staff adherence to safety practices, quality expectations, and organizational policies.
  • Promote shared governance and staff participation in decisionmaking.

Salary Range: $40.71-$58.63
