About This Position
The Director Education Academic Programs oversees the Early Childhood Education Associate of Arts, the Child Development Associate Certification, and the Pennsylvania Director Credential programs. The Director assists the Academic Dean by growing their program, providing overall coordination for their Program, mentoring, and advising students, conducting community outreach, partnering with admissions in recruiting of program students, coordinating adjunct instructors, and limited teaching responsibility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Provides overall guidance and management of their program including developing academic plans and short- and long-term goals that promote innovation, growth, and continuous program improvement.
· Assists the Dean in identifying, hiring, mentoring, and evaluating program faculty.
· Recommends changes in the curriculum to the Esperanza College Educational Policy and Curriculum Committee with the supervision of the Dean.
· Fosters relationships with employers and organizations that will serve as internship sites for Esperanza College students.
· Collaborates with the Dean and Esperanza Development office to secure funding and oversee required outcomes.
· Responsible for preparing and maintaining academic and administrative reports for Esperanza College and Eastern University.
· Mentors and advises program students.
· Works closely with the Student Services and Finance Representative ensuring students have completed their financial aid requirements.
- Conducts outreach to other learning related institutions to create partnerships that can provide enrichment to the program, the students, and the community.
· Cooperates with the College admissions team to grow the program. This may include developing relationships with and making presentations in high schools and community organizations where prospective students for their program congregate. Assists in the student recruitment process as needed.
· Teaches the program field experience courses as part of their regular workload.

Requirements: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILL REQUIREMENTSEducation and Experience:
· PhD or EdD from a regionally accredited university with 2-3 years working and teaching in the field or related field is preferred
· Master’s degree in their field or a related field from a regionally accredited university and at least 3-5 years of experience working in their field is required.
· At least 2-3 years’ experience in higher education, teaching, or curriculum development at the college level.
Knowledge and Skills:
· Thorough knowledge of the undergraduate higher education process
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various department staff, university staff, prospective students, and the public
· Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and other similar software required
· Ability to operate in concert with the Mission and Doctrinal statements of Esperanza College and Eastern University is required
· Sound understanding of academic programs and curriculum development
· Demonstrated experience and effectiveness in teaching and student advisement in a higher education setting
· Ability to provide culturally sensitive and spiritually centered guidance to a diverse student body.
· Keen attention to detail, effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, the ability to take initiative and strong customer service skills are essential.
· Bilingual (fluent in written and spoken English and Spanish) preferred
