Phlebotomist/Clinical Laboratory Associate
$2,500 sign on bonus
Job SummaryJoin our growing laboratory team and play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care. Under the general direction of the Client Service Manager and the Director of Laboratory Services, the Phlebotomist / Clinical Lab Associate is responsible for collecting blood specimens and supporting essential laboratory operations.
This role combines hands-on phlebotomy (venipuncture) with specimen processing, patient registration, and laboratory data entry. You’ll ensure accurate handling and documentation of specimens to support timely and reliable clinical analysis.
What You’ll Do- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection for patients
- Accurately register patients and enter orders into the Laboratory Information System (LIS)
- Process, label, and accession specimens for clinical testing
- Verify and manage requisitions and specimen documentation
- Maintain proper specimen handling, storage, and transport protocols
- Support overall laboratory workflow in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Travel to other locations as needed to support departmental coverage
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, safety, and infection control standards
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Completion of an accredited Phlebotomy Training Program preferred
- Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy experience preferred
- Previous laboratory experience and computer/data entry experience preferred
- Phlebotomy certification preferred
- Strong venipuncture and specimen collection skills
- Ability to work independently and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency with laboratory systems and computer applications
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and departmental needs
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
