Metergy office location is in Markham but will be moving to North York in Fall 2026!
Position Summary
This position is responsible for participating in the completion of tasks required to meet Key Success Indicators and Objectives within the US Billing department. This position is primarily responsible for ensuring accuracy and completeness of billing for the resident and ensuring timely and accurate processing of Client Remittances and reporting. This role establishes strong, positive relationships with the assigned Property Managers and clients. Success in this role requires excellent client service through proactive communication, timely billing and reporting, facilitation of Client requests and working across Metergy to resolve any inquires.
Accountabilities:- Processing Client Remittances within the established SLAs while maintaining a high quality standard
- Ensuring resident bills are accurate and generated in accordance to the established bill cycles
- Ensuring that any new accounts are set up for Billing & Settlements processes including the set-up and maintenance of account fees and credits.
- Resolving and closing exceptions while identifying areas of improvement in the operational process to prevent future exceptions
- Client facing to help educate and resolve client reconciliations requests or billing investigations from clients.
- Working with external clients including Property Owners/Mangers, Utility Companies and Third-Party Vendors while establishing and maintaining relationships.
- Making recommendations, executing and testing changes, improvements and controls to the Billing & Settlements processes
- Handling client escalations while proactively seeking ways to help improve NPS.
- Performing other duties in the Billing department as assigned.
- Canceling and re-billing corrections
- Completing move in and move out field activities in the Billing system when required. Ensuring resident data is flowing from the Property management system
- Processing payments, adjustments, deposits and any exceptions in a timely and accurate manner.
- Managing and updating rates for the assigned buildings
- Provide tailored reports for the client when requested
- Act as client Advocate with other departments
- Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned
- Create and deliver a high volume of accurate and on-time monthly invoices to our submetering clients.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of billing activities
- Ensure timely resolution of all inquires
- Ability to manage conflict
- University Degree or Business Administration Certificate or related equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 year experience in Billing Operations
- Utility, Telecom Industry Experience is an asset
- Detail oriented, analytical and inquisitive
- Strong team player with interpersonal skills that can create and maintain key partnerships between internal clients and external clients at all levels including Residential Customers, Property Managers, Accountants and Executives.
- Highly motivated, pro-active, a flexible professional with the ability to adapt to a complex and vastly-changing environment.
- Works well under pressure, can work independently/self-manage, fast learner and meet tight deadlines
- Must be flexible to work on multiple tasks while working with challenging deadlines.
- Ability to build effective relationships with clients and internal staff
- Strong critical thinking, decision making and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal skills
