JOB SUMMARY:
The Construction Site Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day field operations for vertical construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with plans, specifications, and quality standards. This role serves as the on-site leader coordinating subcontractors, vendors, inspections, and project activities from groundbreaking through final completion.
SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage all field operations for vertical construction projects, including commercial, residential, or mixed-use structures.
- Coordinate daily work of subcontractors, trades, and vendors to ensure efficient and safe site operations.
- Maintain the project schedule; identify delays, implement corrective actions, and communicate updates to the Project Manager.
- Conduct daily site walkthroughs to ensure compliance with safety standards, design plans, and quality expectations.
- Support the enforcement of site safety policies, OSHA regulations, and company protocols.
- Oversee site logistics including materials, equipment, deliveries, staging, and site access.
- Review drawings, specifications, submittals, and RFI responses; ensure accurate implementation in the field.
- Coordinate required inspections with local building departments and third-party inspectors.
- Maintain daily logs, reports, and documentation using company software or project management platforms.
- Proactively identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, or discrepancies.
- Attend project meetings and interface with architects, engineers, inspectors, and owners’ representatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of superintendent or construction field leadership experience, ideally in vertical construction (commercial, residential, or institutional).
- Strong understanding of structural, architectural, MEP, and building envelope systems.
- Proven ability to lead field crews, coordinate subcontractors, and manage multiple phases of work.
- Knowledge of building codes, inspection requirements, and construction best practices.
- Proficiency in reading construction drawings and using project management tools (Procore, PlanGrid, Bluebeam, or similar).
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Collier County, Lee County, or Southwest Florida development standards and permitting processes.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required).
