The Executive Director, Market Access Strategy will lead the development and execution of market access strategies for rare disease therapies, with a focus on neurology and Myasthenia Gravis. This role drives launch readiness, payer engagement, and above-brand market access initiatives, ensuring insights inform brand strategy and execution. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including HEOR, marketing, medical, and pricing, to optimize patient access, contract strategy, and field team enablement. This position requires strategic thinking, independent judgment, and the ability to manage multiple projects while guiding teams and external partners. The role offers the opportunity to influence outcomes at both operational and executive levels and to contribute to patient access and organizational success.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead overall market access strategy for launch readiness and indication expansions, developing tactics to optimize access across channels
  • Serve as the primary market access liaison for brand and cross-functional teams, providing guidance, insights, and support on payer strategies
  • Oversee annual brand planning, including strategy recommendations, initiative prioritization, and budgeting
  • Develop payer value and communication platforms in coordination with HEOR, medical, and marketing teams
  • Manage tactical materials and training for field teams to support brand strategy and market access objectives
  • Track clinical pathways, guideline updates, and market access resources, establishing benchmarks and metrics to assess impact
  • Oversee vendor relationships and budgets associated with market access initiatives, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • 15+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or relevant professional settings (e.g., consulting, patient support), with 10+ years in Market Access
  • Experience in rare disease, neurology, and Myasthenia Gravis preferred
  • Deep understanding of pharmaceutical selling, market access, pricing, and state/federal policy initiatives
  • Strong strategic thinking, project management, and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, capable of influencing cross-functional teams and external partners
  • Ability to implement tactical plans while aligning with broader brand strategies and organizational goals
