Construction Manager Lead Utility-Scale Solar Infrastructure Projects
Job Overview:
Company: Commonwealth Power
Salary/Pay Rate: $80,000 - $110,000 per year plus Year-End Bonus.
Location: Onsite (Richmond, VA / Regional Travel Required).
Job/Employment Type: Full-Time.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, Weekends, and Overtime.
Project Scope: Commercial, Industrial, and Utility-Scale Solar.
Mandatory Licenses & Certifications: OSHA 30 and NFPA 70e.
The Opportunity: You will serve as the primary on-site authority, driving the execution of high-stakes renewable energy projects and upholding an 80 MW legacy of excellence. This role empowers you to masterfully balance technical tradecraft with aggressive schedule management while representing the company to high-level stakeholders. You will have the autonomy to direct multiple crews and subcontractors in a culture that values professional growth and treats every employee like family.
How You Will Make an Impact:
Oversee day-to-day construction activities on multiple utility-scale projects to ensure strict adherence to schedule, budget, and scope.
Lead and enforce comprehensive site safety programs, conducting daily safety walks to proactively identify and mitigate hazards.
Manage site leads and coordinate with diverse subcontractors to maintain seamless project execution across complex industrial sites.
Implement schedule remediation plans and track project milestones to ensure all installations are delivered on time and under budget.
Verify QA/QC requirements and oversee the final commissioning phase to ensure every system meets National Electrical Code standards.
Serve as the diplomatic on-site representative for the brand, maintaining strong professional relationships with school districts and utility partners.
Utilize Procore and Google Suite to maintain accurate documentation, project reporting, and compliance with all regulatory permits.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
5+ years of utility-scale or large commercial construction management experience.
Proven ability to lead and direct multiple field crews and subcontractors on active, high-pressure job sites.
Comprehensive understanding of construction methods, safety regulations, and quality standards.
Physical resilience and the ability to work in various outdoor conditions and lift 50+ pounds.
Valid OSHA 30 certification and a willingness to travel to project sites up to 80% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Advanced proficiency with Procore construction management software.
Extensive knowledge of civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical scopes within the Solar Industry.
