Job Description Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our growing development team. In this role, you will help design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and user-friendly web applications that support our nationwide emergency response and AED program management platforms. This role requires expertise in Ruby on Rails, React (2+ years), and frontend UI development using ANT Design, along with deep experience in Azure Active Directory B2C (4+ years), including Single Sign-On (SSO) integration.

You’ll collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver high-impact, mission-aligned solutions that help save lives.

Remote based opportunity. Candidates must currently reside in the United States and have the ability to follow Eastern Time working hours. (8am - 5pm ET)

Responsibilities

Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our growing development team. In this role, you will help design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and user-friendly web applications that support our nationwide emergency response and AED program management platforms. This role requires expertise in Ruby on Rails, React (2+ years), and frontend UI development using ANT Design, along with deep experience in Azure Active Directory B2C (4+ years), including Single Sign-On (SSO) integration.

You’ll collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver high-impact, mission-aligned solutions that help save lives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain secure, scalable full-stack applications using Ruby on Rails

  • Design intuitive, modern UI components using React and ANT Design, Hotwire Native or similar

  • Architect and implement Azure Active Directory B2C user flows, including SSO, MFA, OAuth, and OpenID Connect

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define technical requirements and deliver application features that align with business needs

  • Contribute to design discussions, code reviews, and process improvements within an Agile environment

  • Develop and maintain RESTful APIs for system integrations

  • Design and implement scalable notification systems and configurable workflow engines to support proactive compliance management and reduce administrative overhead.

  • Write automated tests and contribute to CI/CD pipelines

  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement proactive monitoring and alerting solutions

  • Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to distribute technical ownership

  • Promote best practices and secure coding standards

Skills/Experience Required:

  • 4+ years of full-stack software development experience

  • Strong expertise in Ruby on Rails backend development

  • At least 2 years of hands-on development experience using React

  • Frontend experience working with ANT Design or similar component-based UI libraries

  • 4+ years of experience implementing Azure Active Directory B2C, including SSO, OAuth, and OpenID Connect

  • Experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6+), and modern frontend workflows

  • Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and third-party integration patterns

  • Familiarity with Git-based version control and Agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)

  • Experience writing automated tests (unit, integration, end-to-end) and ensuring high test coverage to support scalable, reliable applications

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to code quality

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and secure application development practices
  • Exposure to test automation tools such as RSpec, Cypress, or Jest
  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL, MySQL or similar relational databases
  • Experience with cloud infrastructure management (e.g., Azure resource provisioning, monitoring, alerting)
  • Experience designing and implementing notification systems or workflow automation for compliance-driven applications
  • Experience with enterprise security practices, including SOC 2 Type 2 compliance, penetration testing, and vulnerability management programs
  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG)
  • Familiarity with IoT or hardware/firmware development, particularly for medical devices or connected systems
  • Experience with compliance-focused applications (HIPAA, FDA)
  • Experience in healthcare, medical devices, or public safety software development environments
