Electrical Assembler II - Houston Main at AirX – Houston, Texas

As an Electrical Assembler at AirX (Custom Air Products & Services), you will help support the design and assembly of custom industrial and commercial HVAC equipment, contributing to our mission of delivering high-quality, dependable climate solutions. You will route, wire, assemble, and install electrical and electronic componentsincluding junction boxes, control switch panels, and instrument panelsusing jigs, hand tools, and test equipment, following detailed specifications and blueprints.

• Prepare for assembly by reviewing instructions, blueprints, and parts lists; gather required components, tools, and materials.

• Position parts and subassemblies using templates and precise measurements.

• Cut wires to specified lengths and install insulating sleeves on wire ends.

• Crimp terminal eyelets and lugs using hand or machine crimping tools.

• Route, comb, twist, wrap, tie, and attach wiring to terminal points.

• Measure completed components to verify they meet specifications.

• Connect wiring to accessories, control panels, switches, solenoids, and plugs.

• Install accessory assemblies into electrical or electronic units.

• Perform functional and continuity tests on assemblies and wire harnesses using ohmmeters, test lights, and other testing tools.

• Troubleshoot assembly issues and work with leads or supervisors as needed for resolution.

• Maintain equipment by performing preventive maintenance and following manufacturer guidelines.

• Keep work areas safe and clean by following standard procedures, rules, and regulations.

• Track inventory levels, anticipate supply needs, and help expedite orders.

• Use materials and tools efficiently to conserve company resources.

• Complete production and quality documentation accurately.

• Work cohesively with team members to support department goals.

• 35 years of experience in HVAC or electrical manufacturing assembly.

• Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.

• Skilled with various hand tools and wiring techniques.

• Strong team player with a commitment to quality work.

• Good decision-making skills.

• High school diploma required; associates degree preferred.

• Required to wear appropriate PPE: safety glasses, gloves, hard hat, leather safety shoes, long-sleeved clothing/coveralls, flame-resistant clothing (if needed), respirator mask, and ear protection.

• Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to industry equipment and conditions.

• May be exposed to loud noise, fumes, dust, chemicals, oils, and airborne particles from HVAC assembly and fabrication processes.

• Must remain alert and attentive due to the potential hazards of assembly tools and machinery.
