Description:

Position Summary:

The Merchandising Manager oversees the daily operations and leads a team that delivers exceptional guest experience, inventory management, and reordering of all non-food retail, including kitchen, home & gift, kids, apothecary, floral, and branded merchandise. The Merchandising Manager ensures proper merchandising and signage standards across all market areas as set by the Director of Retail and Merchandising and GM of Retail. The Merchandising Manager works in collaboration with the

Director of Retail and Merchandising and the Retail Experience Manager in implementing sales strategies, activations, and events on a regular basis.

Operational Responsibilities:

Guest Experience & Hospitality

  • Cultivate an inviting, Guest-centered atmosphere emphasizing exceptional service and a warm welcome across all non-food retail locations within the Market.
  • Proactively manage Guest interactions, handling feedback and concerns with professionalism and care.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages team engagement, cross-departmental collaboration, and a commitment to high hospitality standards.

Revenue Growth & Community Engagement

  • Develop and execute sales strategies with the GM of Retail and Director of Retail and Merchandising to achieve revenue goals and optimize profits.
  • Use data analysis to identify trends and make informed decisions on promotions, upselling, and Guest retention initiatives.
  • Meet with the Director of Retail and Merchandising biweekly to discuss targeted promotions, upcoming pop-ups, and activations that drive sales and align with brand standards.
  • Actively represent the company within the community, participating in local events and serving as a brand ambassador.

Operational Efficiency and Visual Merchandising

  • Oversee inventory levels, ordering processes, and backstock organization
  • Conduct regular stock checks and audits to prevent shortages or overages.
  • Implement strategies to minimize shrinkage and loss.
  • Conduct regular walkthroughs in collaboration with grocery management on cleanliness, merchandising, signage, and pricing standards, ensuring the overall market environment maintains high guest satisfaction.

  • Maintain a favorable working relationship with all company employees to promote a harmonious work environment, boosting morale, productivity, and efficiency/effectiveness.
  • At all times provides a favorable image of ERHG, including market cleanliness (inside and out) and upholding staff appearance standards.
  • Prioritize keeping the team motivated and engaged daily, diligently working to keep morale high and foster a healthy, positive work culture

Personal Requirements:

  • Passion for hospitality, merchandising, organization, and made local
  • Self-discipline, initiative, leadership ability and pleasant, approachable nature
  • Ability to lead by example with a neat and clean appearance.
  • Ability to motivate employees to work as a team and maintain engagement
  • Must be a problem solver, multi-tasker, and possess good communication skills
  • Posses a can-do, team-oriented, flexible attitude

Working Conditions:

  • The typical work week for this position is 50 hours. Hours may vary if the manager must fill in for his/her employees or if emergencies arise.
  • Ability to perform all functions at the retail level.
  • Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products and supplies weighing 45 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist motion.
  • Work with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment, as well as operate phones, computers, fax machines, copiers, and other office equipment.
