About This Position
Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays - 1pm to 9pm
Saturdays/Sundays - 9a-5p
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems and industrial mechanics, with a focus on maintaining and improving equipment reliability. This role requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving, ensuring that all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. The Maintenance Technician will work closely with various departments to provide exceptional customer service and support.
Responsibilities
Perform routine maintenance and repairs in all areas of the hotel including to the walls, floors, ceilings, corridors, PTAC units, washers, dryers, kitchen area equipment, vacuum cleaners, sinks, drains, televisions, furniture, and window treatments.
Act as primary person responsible for grounds maintenance including but not limited to landscaping or contracting with landscapers, pulling weeds, lawn maintenance, and performing repairs to the outside of the building and grounds.
Troubleshoot electrical issues using tools and other diagnostic equipment.
Conduct inspections of equipment to identify potential problems and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with the team to ensure timely resolution of maintenance requests.
Operate equipment safely while adhering to safety protocols.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed and parts used.
Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to maintenance inquiries and concerns.
Assist in the training of junior staff members on maintenance procedures and best practices as needed.
Qualifications
Proven experience in a similar general maintenance role in a similar environment reporting to the Hotel General Manager/AGM and or Maintenance Engineer required.
Strong knowledge of hotel general maintenance needs and repairs with an attention to detail preferred.
Experience with industrial mechanics, including troubleshooting mechanical issues required.
Ability to operate required equipment safely and effectively and to train a technician accordingly required.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on a sense of urgency required.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and an ability to effectively collaborate with team members required.
HS diploma preferred.
