About This Position

Description:

The Senior Assembler is a highly skilled, hands-on manufacturing role responsible for performing complex electronic assembly operations in a high-reliability, regulated electronics manufacturing environment. This position serves as a technical expert on the production floor, supporting precision assembly, quality execution, and adherence to documented processes. The Senior Assembler works closely with Production Leads, Supervisors, Engineering, and Quality to support production goals, troubleshoot issues, and mentor less-experienced assemblers.

  • Perform complex electronic assembly operations including PCBA, cable and wire harness assembly, box build, and mechanical assembly
  • Interpret and follow detailed work instructions, drawings, schematics, bills of materials (BOMs), and quality requirements
  • Ensure strict compliance with IPC standards, J-STD-001 requirements, ESD controls, and customer specifications
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve assembly-related issues; escalate concerns as appropriate
  • Support first article inspections, in-process inspections, and rework activities
  • Assist with training, mentoring, and cross-training of Assemblers and new hires
  • Provide technical input to Production Leads, Supervisors, and Engineering regarding process improvements and manufacturability
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to production activities, rework, and deviations
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and defect reduction
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Technical training or certification in electronics assembly preferred
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing or precision assembly
  • Advanced understanding of electronic components, assembly techniques, and quality standards
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and assembly drawings
  • Proficiency in hand soldering, cable termination, crimping, and mechanical assembly techniques
  • Experience using microscopes, hand tools, and assembly equipment
  • Basic computer skills and experience with ERP/MES systems preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Dependable, adaptable, and willing to support production priorities
  • IPC certifications (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001) preferred
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement environments
  • Ability to stand, sit, and work on the production floor for extended periods
