POSITION OVERVIEW:
Reporting to the Sr. Manager, Asset Management, this position is responsible for the asset management of a portfolio of retail assets that is identified by geographic location and/or joint venture partner.
The role is located at our Yonge & Eglinton Centre in Toronto, ON.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare, update and execute on strategic Asset Management Plans for assets within the assigned portfolio;
  • Maintain a portfolio of properties including the vetting of annual budgets & analysis of monthly financial statements;
  • Reforecast budgets and cash flows on a monthly basis;
  • Liaise and provide support to joint venture partners including creation of monthly reporting packages, quarterly statistics and lease approval packages;
  • Travel to and conduct inspections of the assets within the portfolio on an annual basis;
  • Collaborate with the Sr. Manager, Asset Management and other members of the Asset Management department to ensure consistent and comprehensive management of the overall RioCan portfolio;
  • Provide pre-budget and post-budget support to the Leasing department. Underwrite all lease transactions and recommend acceptable deals to upper management and partners;
  • Monitor and provide oversight of the assets within the assigned portfolio, collaborating with all departments involved with the projects (i.e. Leasing, Accounting, Operations, Investments, Development, and Construction when appropriate) and lead asset specific update meetings as required;
  • If required, provide oversight on any redevelopment projects within the assigned portfolio;
  • Identify and recommend areas of potential value enhancement, innovation and risk control;
  • Other duties / projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • University degree preferably in Business or Finance;
  • A minimum of 5 years working experience in commercial real estate, ideally in a similar or analytical role;
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook;
  • Knowledge of Yardiand Argus;
  • Good accounting skills with knowledge of IFRS accounting a definite asset;
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
The base salary range for this role reflects compensation for candidates at varying levels of experience and proficiency. The salary will be determined based on the successful candidates relevant competencies, including skills, experience, education, and our teams requirements.
The listed salary range does not include bonus and other total rewards. This role is eligible for participation in the companys bonus program.
