The Technical Product Manager will contribute to Veracytes success by leading the product strategy, development, and lifecycle management of our Veracyte workflows, driving improvements in laboratory operations, order-to-cash processes, or analytics capabilities. This role centers on bridging technical and business needs to optimize workflow efficiency, data handoffs, and data integrity. In addition to core product management duties, the Technical Product Manager will collaborate closely with engineering, clinical, and analytics teams to champion standards-based solutions that enhance operational performance and support data-driven decision-making. This is a strategic role supporting Veracytes broader digital transformation in laboratory diagnostics, analytics, and order-to-cash processing.
This position is based out of our South San Francisco or San Diego office (hybrid) and we are open to remote (US, PST ideal).
Key Responsibilities:
Product Ownership & Strategy

Own and manage the product backlog, including prioritization and ongoing grooming
Define, maintain, and communicate product roadmaps for new product development and sustaining activities
Act as the primary product decisionmaker, balancing scope, value, risk, and technical constraints
Requirements & Planning

Lead scoping discussions and effort estimation exercises with engineering and crossfunctional teams
Elicit, document, and manage requirements, translating user and business needs into clear user stories and acceptance criteria
Ensure requirements are welldefined, traceable, and aligned with overall product strategy
CrossFunctional Collaboration

Partner with clinical, scientific, and business stakeholders to understand workflows, user needs, and success criteria
Collaborate closely with engineering, SQA, and operations teams to support design, development, and testing activities
Coordinate dependencies and resolve ambiguities to keep delivery on track
Delivery & Continuous Improvement

Support release planning, execution, and readiness, including defect triage and scope tradeoff decisions
Monitor product outcomes and stakeholder feedback to drive continuous improvement
Maintain clear product documentation and ensure shared understanding across teams
- Bachelor's or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Health Informatics, or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on technical products in healthcare or software integration.
- Prior experience in healthcare environments optimizing lab operations, ordertocash, and billing/reimbursement workflows, including analyticsdriven systems.
- Familiarity with Salesforce, or Lab Information Management Systems (LIMS).
- Strong technical proficiency, including understanding of APIs, data modeling, cloud services (e.g., AWS, GCP), and software development lifecycle.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional projects in a fast-paced, regulated industry.

For candidates based in our South San Francisco office, the salary range is $148,000 - $160,000.
For candidates based in our San Diego office, the salary range is $138,000 - $150,000.
For candidates working remote (US), the salary range is $135,000 - $145,000.
The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience, skillset, geographic location, industry, education, etc. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
