Position Purpose: The Taproom Manager, with assistance from the Taproom Leadership Team, will lead the FOH service and Assistant Manager team at Snow Tire.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Staff Management
- Oversee the service team and Assistant Managers in the Taproom, providing support and guidance as needed.
- Develop and manage the Taproom service team’s schedule, approve timecards, and submit payroll reports every two weeks.
- Process PTO and time-off requests promptly, ensuring sufficient staffing levels for operations.
- Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and selecting candidates for the Taproom.
- Facilitate onboarding for new hires and gather feedback to allow for continuous improvement.
- Facilitate additional training for staff as needed, including completion of Cicerone and ServSafe certifications, 30, 60, and 90-day check-ins, and updates to Taproom training documents that reflect changes in taproom and company policies.
- Communicate policy and operational changes to staff effectively.
- Address performance issues with guidance and collaborate with the leadership team to improve staff performance.
- Celebrate team achievements, gather and respond to feedback, and conduct regular check-ins and reviews with Taproom staff.
- Participate in staff lineups as often as possible to ensure important information is being shared.
2. Operations Management
- Audit EOD transactions, make weekly cash deposits, and ensure petty cash and change are available.
- Work closely with the production team to ensure readiness for new releases.
- Maintain all menus for the Taproom and work with the marketing team to ensure that products that are shown as available online match what is available on-site.
- Purchase and maintain the tools and inventory needed for Taproom to run efficiently.
- Assist the Cura Manager by purchasing and maintaining shared supplies between the Taproom and Cura.
- Collaborate with the Cura Manager as needed to ensure the cocktail program is successful in the Taproom.
- Collaborate with the Events and Retail Manager as needed to ensure events, private parties and reservations are well organized in the taproom, and merchandise is available and organized.
- Work with HR and Arryved to ensure our House Accounts are accurate and our allocation sheets are up to date.
- Work with service vendors and the CCBC Maintenance Team to address and resolve all maintenance issues and projects in the Taproom.
- Ensure monthly inventory counts are conducted and accurate.
- Observe trends and recommend changes to staffing, operations, products and pricing to help ensure the Taproom remains profitable.
3. Other Responsibilities
- Observe shifts regularly and cover for MODs if needed.
- Update and maintain 4DX information regularly and ensure that Lead Measures are being met.
- Schedule secret shopper visits monthly and conduct weekly taproom closing audits.
- Work closely with other departments as needed to accomplish company-wide goals.
- Assist the Director of Taprooms with tracking and reporting Taproom revenue and expenses as needed.
- Lead by example by embodying our values to foster and maintain a positive culture in the Taproom and throughout the company.
- Minimum of 3+ years of professional hospitality experience.
- Availability to work nights and weekends as needed.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safety.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in office software, including MS Office Suite.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and make sound judgments.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.
