This is a strategic leadership role for a compliance expert passionate about navigating complex global trade regulations and enabling international business growth. You will oversee and strengthen trade compliance programs across multiple regions, ensuring adherence to import/export laws, sanctions, and regulatory frameworks. Working cross-functionally with legal, supply chain, and operations teams, you’ll mitigate risk while supporting expansion into new markets. This position offers a unique balance of governance, analytics, and advisory responsibilities, with direct influence on business decisions and regulatory strategy. You’ll also lead initiatives to enhance compliance systems, processes, and training across the organization. Accountabilities:
  • Lead and enhance global trade compliance programs, ensuring adherence to import/export regulations, sanctions, and licensing requirements
  • Conduct risk assessments, internal audits, and compliance reviews across classification, valuation, country of origin, and export controls
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and training programs to strengthen compliance awareness and execution
  • Oversee regulatory requirements including BAA, BABA, TAA, and other applicable trade frameworks
  • Manage third-party due diligence programs, including screening and monitoring of suppliers, distributors, and partners
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and regulatory authorities to address inquiries, audits, and disclosures
  • Analyze compliance data, KPIs, and trends to identify risks and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide strategic guidance to leadership on trade compliance risks, regulatory changes, and global expansion efforts
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g., international business, supply chain, law, or engineering)
  • 9–12 years of experience in global trade compliance, including import/export regulations and international frameworks
  • Deep expertise in U.S. and international trade regulations, including export controls, sanctions, customs valuation, and origin rules
  • Proven ability to interpret complex regulations and implement compliant solutions in multi-jurisdictional environments
  • Experience designing and managing global compliance programs, internal controls, and audit processes
  • Strong background in third-party risk management and compliance monitoring systems
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to advise senior stakeholders
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and working with global teams
  • Familiarity with compliance technologies, data integrity controls, and reporting systems
