We are looking for a Territory Sales Manager (TSM) for the Atlanta, GA Metro Area who is passionate about making a difference and exceeding goals. This isn’t just another sales job – it’s an opportunity to improve lives every single day and help people regain independence, freedom, and confidence.

TSM’s are responsible growing territory sales efforts. TSM’s build product demand through developing genuine customer relationships, prospects, and partners. They provide hands-on demonstrations of equipment, provide education on product offerings and recommend solutions that work. Candidates must be comfortable working in multiple environments, from a manufacturing floor during product training, a remote office setting at home, to customer facing in store fronts, clinical settings (hospitals/therapy centers) and at venues with colleagues during industry events. The ability to travel up to 80% of the time is necessary for this role. A valid US driver’s license in good standing is required and an SUV, crossover, minivan, or similar vehicle in excellent condition is needed to visit with customers and transport products for demos or evaluation purposes.

Mechanical skills and abilities are needed to fill this role, and candidates cannot be afraid to turn a wrench if needed. Computer literacy and having the capability to learn new platforms quickly are very important skills as well.

This is a full-time, remote position assigned to the State of Georgia. We are not currently offering a relocation allowance for this position. A related college degree with five (5) years of relevant sales and/or industry experience is strongly preferred; or an equivalent combination of closely related experience, education, and/or training. ATP credentials are preferred and recognized.

The annual starting base salary is 60k per year with eligibility for monthly sales bonus incentives based upon meeting goals and performance standards. Merits also offers eligibility for our company-wide quarterly bonus incentive program. Additionally, TSM’s can receive travel and expense reimbursements, mobile device/Wi-Fi reimbursements, and a monthly auto allowance. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organizational policies and procedures. Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to provide an elevated level of customer satisfaction and sales growth, and to ensure the company delivers on its promises.
  • Advance the company’s vision, mission, culture, and values with frequent interactions that are based on trust, transparency, and open communication.
  • Educate customers on value proposition and benefits of the products.
  • Consistently follow and meet weekly sales performance requirements including, but not limited to, In-Person Customer Meetings, Product demo Activities, New "Lead" Touches, In-Service Activities, Territory-wide e-mail blasts, and other sales metrics as assigned to meet Scorecard Requirements.
  • Attend and participate in weekly calls and provide weekly reports to leadership team to evaluate and provide feedback on sales activities.
  • Complete CRM entries frequently as required and utilize other company software/systems to perform job duties.
  • Remain current on new and existing product development and information.
  • Remain current on industry standards and trends, competitors, and leading customer strategies.
  • Stay abreast of government regulations as they relate to competitive bidding and other government regulations including, but not limited to, Medicare Billing Codes.
  • Complete required training and/or action item tasks as assigned.
  • Follow company policies and procedures and participate in safety and other required training as relevant to the position.
  • Attend and participate in Sales Team bi-annual conference meetings and industry events.
  • Business travel as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

COMPETENCIES & QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Must have the ability to comprehend and adapt to customer and team member behaviors and can professionally and respectfully address challenges when they arise.
  • Must be computer literate with proficiencies in MS Office applications (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, SharePoint) and have recent/relevant experience with ERP and CRM systems; or be savvy enough to learn new systems quickly.
  • Must have the ability to consistently and effectively present information and can efficiently respond to high volume electronic messages of inquiries from internal and external customers.
  • Must have the ability to effectively manage time and workload, be dependable, and hold an excellent attendance record.
  • Must be willing to travel as expected to meet position requirements of up to 80% and have a very good tolerance to withstand the possible stressors of travel.
  • Must read, write, and speak fluent English and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have a valid US Driver’s License in good standing and must maintain throughout employment.
  • Must have an SUV, Van, Crossover, or similar vehicle in excellent running condition and is visually appealing to transport products for demonstration/evaluation purposes.
  • Must have active auto insurance and must maintain throughout employment.
  • Must provide proof of said auto insurance at time of hire, upon auto policy renewal, and/or upon HR or senior leadership request.
  • Must have personal auto insurance that is maintained throughout employment and meets the following criteria:

- Meets state minimum coverage requirements.

- An endorsement that covers the use of personal vehicles for business purposes.

- Have minimum coverage levels of 100/300/50 for adequate protection while driving your personal vehicle for work related

travel.

Educational & Experiential Requirements: A related college degree with five (5) years of relevant sales and industry experience; or an equivalent combination of closely related experience, education, and/or training. ATP preferred and recognized.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit for extended periods of time, but also will be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb/climb ladders or balance; use of hands to handle or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; frequently required to talk and hear; active use of computer. The employee is required to safely lift or move up to fifty (50) to seventy-five (75) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job in an on-site or remote business office atmosphere, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate, cool to ambient climate temperatures and moderately clean, dependent on location.

While performing the duties of this job when traveling, the employee will have contact with internal and external customers and vendors. The employee may also be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time and place. This may include warm, hot, or cold temperatures with precipitation and humidity to match. The noise level in the work environment may be moderate to loud.

The employee must be able to withstand the possible stressors of travel, which may include local, regional, national, and possibly international; travel modes will include car/motor vehicle, air travel, and rail travel if applicable of, up to 80%.

While performing the duties in a public or retail store-front environment, the employee may need to work near moving mechanical parts in some instances. The noise levels in these work environments may be moderate to loud; ambient climate temperatures to occasional humid and hot (depending on the location and season), dry, dusty to moderately clean. Employees may need to wear/use safety equipment / PPE which will be provided by the company.

While performing the job duties when telecommuting, the employee will be solely responsible for establishing an appropriate work environment within the off-site location for work purposes. Unless specified in an offer of employment or as mandated by local and/or state specific requirements, Merits Healthcare Products, Inc. will not be responsible for costs associated with the setup of the employee's home office, such as remodeling, furniture, or lighting, nor for repairs or modifications of home office space.
