About This Position
We have a new associate joining our practice and are seeking a qualified Dental Administrator to work with us on a permanent full-time basis as a Financial Coordinator.
The Financial Coordinator plays a vital role in our office with day-to-day operational activities and database support, including but not limited with managing patient accounts, verifying insurance benefits, processing payments, and helping patients understand their financial responsibilities. This role is essential to maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring an exceptional and seamless experience for patients from treatment planning to finishing their orthodontic treatment.
RESPONSABILITIES:
- Meeting with patients to present the costs of treatment and payment options
- Completing contracts when patients start treatment
- Setting up practice software with contract/payment schedules
- Setting up payments in Moneris
- Billing insurance; predetermination, initial, and monthly
- Handling refunds and treatment transfers as necessary
- Working through accounts receivable monthly
- Verifying insurance and submitting predeterminations
- Billing insurance: initial, and monthly
- Entering payments and following up monthly with declined patient payments and missing insurance payments
- Managing phone calls and emails regarding financials
- Following up on unscheduled treatment

SCHEDULE:
- Approximately 33 hours per week
- Monday to Thursday 7:45am to 4:30pm.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- A strong understanding of dental insurance processes and direct billing is required for this role
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a Dental Receptionist/Dental Administrator
- Completion of a Dental Administration Program or a clinical assistant background is considered an asset
- Excellent computer and technology skills and experience with a dental practice management software, we use Tops Ortho
- Clear verbal and written communication skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients and their families
- Positive, friendly, outgoing people person
- Ability to provide exceptional patient care and customer service
- Excellent leadership skills
