Product Marketing Engineer at Preformed Line Products – Mayfield Village, Ohio

As a Product Marketing Engineer, you will be responsible for the development and support of new and existing products in select market(s). You will work closely with field sales, customer service, manufacturing, and engineering departments to ensure product strategies are executed. This position requires complete knowledge of the company’s products, services, policies, and customer needs.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Support Market/Product Managers in the development of marketing and product plans.
• Support Market/Product Managers with new product launch processes, including developing collateral materials, coordinating field trials, facilitating customer standardization, and coordinating sales training.
• Manage product life cycle (birth – development – death).
• Analyze competitive products.
• Define and develop MS specifications.
• Initiate Engineering Change Requests.
• Identify cost reductions/profit improvement opportunities.
• Stay abreast of the latest product technologies and innovations.
• Support resolution of customer complaints/field failures.
• Initiate modifications to existing products to meet changing requirements.
• Provide technical support to customers and the field sales network (product recommendations, etc.)
• Develop technical product presentations.
• Support New Product Development Process (providing input, monitoring progress, etc.)
• Conduct product research.
• Coordinate product testing programs to meet customer requirements.
• Participate in and coordinate field activities (line inspections, vibration studies, product installations, etc.)
• Assist sales correspondence in developing product recommendations for RFQs.
• Develop product animations and renderings to support new product launch activities

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferably in Engineering.
• 3-5 years of previous product management or application engineering experience, preferably in the markets of PLP services.
• German language proficiency is preferred.
• Ability to use a computer and applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel, Keyshot, ProE
• Must be a self-starter who can function in a business startup environment.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and comply with the provisions of PLP’s auto program.
• Ability to effectively communicate in both verbal and written situations involving customers, internal personnel, and field sales service representatives.
• Strong planning and organizational skills, along with technical knowledge of assigned PLP product lines.
