Compensation: Starts at $34.00 per hour and is commensurate with education, experience, certification, and internal equity
Status: Non-Exempt

What You’ll Do as a Cath Lab RN Procedural & Clinical Support-
Assist cardiologists and radiologists with diagnostic catheterizations and interventional procedures.

Perform scrubbing, circulating, monitoring, and documentation responsibilities during procedures.

Monitor and record hemodynamic parameters in accordance with policy and procedure.

Deliver moderate sedation under the direct order and supervision of the attending physician.

Operate and report results from blood glucose and oxygen saturation monitoring devices.

Provide direct and indirect nursing care addressing psychosocial, physical, and restorative patient needs.

Conduct thorough assessments and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.

Recognize cardiac arrhythmias and interpret EKG findings.

Utilize sound clinical judgment in emergency or rapidly changing situations.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.

Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.

Adhere to regulatory standards, organizational policies, and nurse practice guidelines.

Promote a safe, patient-centered environment focused on quality and service excellence.

Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and teamwork.

Respond quickly and accurately to emergencies within the Cath Lab and hospital setting.

Graduate of an accredited nursing program required

Critical care experience preferred
-
Ability to recognize arrhythmias and experience with hemodynamic monitoring preferred

One (1) year of experience in a similar role preferred

Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of North Carolina

Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required at time of hire
-
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association required within 90 days of hire or transfer

Strong clinical knowledge and critical care proficiency

Ability to communicate courteously and effectively within the chain of command

Competence in delivering safe, effective patient care within licensure and regulatory standards

Knowledge of cardiac care pathways and invasive cardiology procedures

Exceptional customer service and patient-centered care skills
-
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced procedural environment

Ability to lift, position, push, pull, and/or transfer patients weighing 50+ pounds
-
Prolonged standing and walking (8+ hours per shift)

Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, and reaching

Manual dexterity for precise procedural tasks

Near visual acuity for detailed clinical monitoring

Frequent repetitive hand, finger, and wrist movements

Occasional exposure to vibration, cramped spaces, and radiation

Regular exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious materials

Frequent exposure to electrical/mechanical equipment and clinical hazards

Exposure to ionizing and non-ionizing radiation in procedural settings

Requires flexibility for irregular hours, including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency call situations
