Employment Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire
Salary: $50,000 $70,000 (Depending on Experience)
Location: York, PA or Richmond, VA
Schedule: MondayFriday, 7:00 AM 4:00 PM
Flexibility required for overtime and occasional Saturdays as project demands dictate.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Miscellaneous Metals Assistant Project Manager to support the planning, coordination, and execution of steel fabrication and erection projects. This role partners closely with Project Managers to ensure documentation, scheduling, and coordination tasks are completed accurately and efficiently throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in coordinating fabrication and erection of structural steel, miscellaneous metals, joists, and metal decking
  • Support steel detailing and surveying coordination
  • Review drawings and specifications to assist with material takeoffs and scope understanding
  • Assist with project scheduling, submittals, and document control
  • Support preparation of schedules of values, billing documentation, and change order requests
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to support material deliveries and schedules
  • Participate in BIM coordination and clash detection meetings as needed
  • Maintain organized project documentation in both electronic and hard copy formats
  • Support Project Managers with communication and coordination across project teams
Qualifications
  • 13 years of project coordination or project management experience, preferably in steel construction
  • 24 year post-secondary degree preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera preferred
  • Valid U.S. drivers license
  • Knowledge of steel construction materials, methods, and tools
  • Willingness to learn and apply safety, quality, and cost control standards
  • Ability to apply job-related mathematics and perform field verification as needed
Work Environment
  • Exposure to construction environments including dust, welding fumes, paint fumes, and loud noise
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts and electrical hazards
  • Approximately 15% travel required (mileage reimbursement available)
