Position: Financial Manager (CFO)

Overview: We are seeking an experienced and strategic Contracted CFO to collaborate with our leadership team and manage a portfolio of independent clients. This role suits finance professionals who excel in financial strategy, cash flow forecasting, and scaling organizations, with a strong desire for continuous learning and growth as CFO leaders.

Responsibilities:

Serve as Head of Finance for assigned clients, partnering with owners and executive teams to align financial strategies with business goals

Lead budgeting, forecasting, and 3-statement financial modeling processes including 12-month budgets, quarterly refreshes, and 13-week cash flow forecasts

Partner with clients (revenue typically $600K$15M) to identify growth and profitability opportunities

Develop and monitor KPIs, including working capital targets, to guide decision-making and track financial performance

Advise on SBA loans, lines of credit, financing strategies, and support bank relationships and potential exits

Identify financial risks, ensure compliance, and recommend improvements to back-office processes

Maintain consistent client communication through weekly stand-ups (30 minutes), monthly CFO calls (60120 minutes), and quarterly strategic reviews (90 minutes)

Deliver monthly financial packages, conduct quarterly cost audits, and oversee accurate accounting reporting

Skills:

Proven ability to provide strategic financial guidance and actionable insights in a multi-client setting

Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management tools

Excellent project management and communication skills, capable of leading structured client meetings and enforcing accountability

Proficiency with financial platforms such as QuickBooks Online (QBO), Xero, Excel, and modern FP&A/reporting tools

Familiarity with SBA loan processes, banking relationships, and small business funding strategies

Ability to advise across industries including local service businesses like restaurants, construction, and professional services

This role involves working closely with business owners, acting as a trusted advisor similar to an in-house CFO, while adhering to firm standards, processes, and leadership.
