Job Summary:
The Senior Director of Contracts and Supply Chain plays a crucial role in our defense contracting company, overseeing the contracts and procurement teams consisting of nearly a dozen professionals. The role’s leadership will be instrumental in ensuring the company's compliance with regulations, mitigating risks, and optimizing procurement processes on multiple programs through their life cycle. The successful candidate will have a strong background in defense contracts, excellent negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of government procurement regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Compliance and Risk Management:
• Ensure compliance on all relevant laws, regulations, and policies affecting defense contracts and procurement.
• Implement and enforce compliance measures to mitigate risks associated with contracts and procurement activities.

Executive Leadership:
• Leadership role on the company’s executive team, providing up to date, accurate data on the contract and supply chain teams efforts as well as strategic planning and leadership aligned with the company’s objectives and values.
• Recruit, mentor, develop and lead a high-performing contracts and procurement team.
• Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages professional growth and development
• Leading the procurement team in sourcing, negotiating, and contracting for goods and services, with a focus on cost-effectiveness and quality.
• Facilitate collaboration and support between other executive leaders and multiple teams across the organization.

Contract Management:
• Oversee the entire contract lifecycle, from proposal and negotiation to execution and closeout.
• Develop and implement contract management processes to ensure compliance with government regulations and company policies.
• Provide guidance on contractual matters to internal teams and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

Supplier Relationship Management:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and partners.
• Evaluate supplier performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize the supply chain.

Budget Oversight:
• Collaborate with finance and other relevant departments to develop and manage budgets for contracts and procurement activities.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and efficiencies within the procurement process.

Qualifications and Requirements:
• Candidates must be considered ITAR Authorized US Persons as defined under 22 CFR § 120.62.
• Candidates must be lawfully permitted and comfortable working in facilities with access to firearms and munitions.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Contract Management, Procurement, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in contracts and procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Extensive experience in defense contracting and a deep understanding of government procurement regulations.
• Must be able to travel, both domestically and internationally, on average, at least 25 to 30% as business conditions may require.
• This position will report onsite at our offices in Tampa Florida.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to drive favorable terms and conditions.
• In-depth knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and lead a diverse team.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to align contracts and procurement activities with organizational objectives.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate complex contractual and procurement concepts to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM) or Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) are desirable.
• ISO 9001:2015 training

Physical Demands and Abilities:
• Regularly spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers.
• Regularly move from sitting to standing positions effortlessly.
• Frequently work on projects that require deadlines.
• Travel, both domestic and international, is required.

Working Conditions:
Work will be mostly completed in a climate-controlled office environment but requires some business travel to Department of Defense sites, trade shows and conferences, customers and suppliers will be required as business conditions need.
